Do I need to connect a fuse before connecting it to the car battery ?

No on the 4 x5 20 volts. Wired in parallel circuit so voltage stays the same but limits total quantity connected to that circuit/line. I doubt you’ll run into this problem if your trying to you a few sets of 4. Hope that was helpful vs more complicated. I purchased 12v system (1 set qnt:4) was more than enough for a 14’ fully inclosed trailer used for construction.
