I have gotten my natural nails professionally manicured for years. My technicians have always been great at hand painting my designs. I wanted something different thus year for Halloween and Googled images. I seen these and thought they looked spectacular! I purchased them and took them to my usual nail salon and asked if they could apply them and use the gel stuff so the sticker wouldn't come off. The technician said they were water activated and she sized and cut them all to fit my nails (after initial polishing). These have a white backer then a clear backer. She had a hard time getting them to separate then they wouldn't even stick, we applied nail glue then stuck them in place. They are very fragile and tear easily. Luckily for me my technician was skilled enough to get them in place and look right. She cleaned them up with acetone and gel polished two coats of clear on top. While the finished nails look good and I'm happy with it, I would suggest a professional to apply these. I promised my technician that I would no longer buy appliques, and instead just allow them to hand design. She explained that they could achieve close results to the product photo but of course it wouldn't be exact as hand designs never are. Well my finished nails aren't exact to the product photo either, as you can see.

Even with many layers of top coat, they manage to chip off my nails.

I don't have particularly wide nails but even the widest size isn't great for nails that have a wider tip (square, squoval) my thumb and middle finger will just have to do without designs
