Tjernlund1519003 Wire Fan Guard, 120 mm

I ordered these to make a solder fume exhaust fan out of a 120 volt computer fan. They were well made, having great spot-welded construction and chromed. The thickness of the wire is a little less than I would like, but not less than I expected. They arrived by regular post in a padded envelop. The shipping time was reasonable.Fume Extractor: Place a guard on the back of the fan. Add a piece of charcoal impregnated foam. Place a second grill over the foam. You should end up with a foam sandwich. Place a third grill on the front of the fan. Assemble the device with #8-32 bolts and nylon lock nuts. Tighten the nuts to press on the foam just enough to hold it in placeUse: Place the suction side of the fan near the soldering work area to move the solder smoke away from your face. If you blow away the fumes, you will blow away your heat, too. So, use suction. The negative pressure area is larger than you would think and reaches out to gather the smoke.I liked these well enough to order another set.
