Brooklyn Nine-Nine: The Complete Series [DVD]

I'm not usually into cop shows as they always misrepresent real police work. However, this show isn't your typical procedural nonsense: it's comedy! Every actor and actress in this show delivers a stellar performance. The show is consistently funny, and the stories are human and relatable. There is some procedure, mostly in the form of jokes about endless mind-numbing paperwork. The show occasionally tackles real issues thoughtfully and with respect for everyone. Honestly, if you said I would be seriously entertained by detectives being mostly whacky, but sometimes super serious I would have laughed. In the first sixty seconds of episode one, you realize the show is hilarious. By the last episode, you realize this is one of the greatest television comedies.

I like to put on shows to put in the background while I craft, something that'll give me a laugh, I didn't expect to put down the craft and then realize a few episodes later I had not continued from where I left off. You know it's a good show when that happens. I enjoy being able to own the physical media that seems to be disappearing from store shelves from coast to coast, so I was doubly excited when there were no defects on the discs, and so far there have not been any skips or the like. I think what sets this show apart from your average comedy, besides being held in a Brooklyn precinct, is that there is character growth. These characters don't stay in their same monotonous character types, they branch out and in the end give you some feels you didn't quite expect. Without giving any spoilers, I would have to say the funniest thing on the show is something that actually happened to me in real life. As a teenager I once told my mother she needed what Rosa told Captain Holt and Kevin they needed, and let me tell you, my mother reacted the same way for the rest of the day towards me 😂

Brooklyn 99 is one of my all time favorite shows. Especially love Andy Samberg and Melissa Fumero as Jake and Amy. Haven’t checked all the Blu Ray DVDs yet. On disc 2 of season 2 but so far they look good and nothing appears wrong with any of them. (Not that I expect there to be). The only thing I’m disappointed with is that they didn’t do many extras. I know there’s quite a few deleted scenes and I’ll be watching those. Season 3 looks like there may be a couple extras besides deleted scenes but otherwise there’s not. It’s fine there’s not. It’s why I didn’t mark it down a star just compared to some other shows I’ve gotten they’ve had more. Still, I love this show and am very happy I got the set.

Hilarious Show!

Netlfix only had until season 5 so I bought the box to find out what happened after the cliffhanger. Worth it!

A great workplace comedy! The cast sink into their roles with apparent ease and stay in them for eight delightful seasons. Admittedly, this Blu-ray set is a rather bare-bones release, special features-wise. A few featurettes and a collection of deleted scenes are all that accompany these episodes. But certainly worth the money and the time. Join up with the Nine-Nine today and prepare to have your funny bone tickled (Peralta would suggest this be the title of my sex tape).

Love the show, all discs work so far, one of cases however (season 4) came relatively shattered

Great picture and audio quality, and a straight forward menu that puts you right in the episode selector. even gives you the option to play every episode one after another. my only hang-up is that none of the discs have any bonus features other than giving you a few deleted scenes on like 2-4 episodes per season. would have loved some bts or interviews.

I think this is one of the best Blu-Ray boxsets I own. It does work on UK Blu-Ray players and it is really good and it is shot in HD. I love a lot of episodes and could take time to explain. The best era is Season 3 to 5 and while Season 8 was the weakest but it had a brilliant 2 parter to finish the show. Worth getting
