Good 20 color remote-controlled LED whip lighting. Reasonable price. Instruction sheet & remote control details JPGs attached
We purchased and installed the ONLINE LED STORE 4ft LED Whip Lights w/Flag [21 Modes] [20 Colors] [Wireless Remote] [Weatherproof] Lighted Antenna Whips - Accessories for ATV Polaris RZR 4 WheelerThe wife requested a removable LED whip for her Jeep JKUR Recon for cruise nights, and night-time off road use. It can also be used to provide set-up lighting when setting-up camp after dark, or assisting in nighttime rendezvous with other group campers, also night-time trail/dune safety. We chose the 4 foot whip because it was already mounted quite high off the ground on the lifted Jeep. Note, the 4 foot whip as mounted, will NOT clear normal/slightly higher than normal garage doors and must be removed and stored. Depending upon trail conditions with low overhead clearance due to vegetation, a shorter 3 foot whip may be a better choice than a longer 4/5/6 foot whip in this case.Installation - Was simple as we had already installed a TeraFlex reinforced tire carrier with a Hi-Lift jack bracket which has two antenna holes. One was in use for a Firestik CB antenna, the other was available for a LED whip light. On Jeep JKURs, there was a 12 vDC outlet inside the rear cargo area (passenger side). The anodized aluminum mounting socket (silver*), at its bottom has a steel metric hex-head bolt, washer, lock washer, and a nut to mount it in a mounting hole.*Note the manufacturer's website shows the mounting socket as black, not the silver anodized we received (and silver is pictured on Amazon) if that's important to you. Only small issue we saw from a hardware perspective was the vertically oriented steel hex-head bolt recess could collect water and rust over time (making removal difficult when inserting a hex wrench in a rusted hex bolt socket), this is preventable with stainless steel hex-head bolt substitution. The flag clamp bolts and ny-loc nuts appear to be stainless.Power Cord - The LED whip includes about 4 feet of power cord, so power was easily available (with several feet to spare) by adding a male 12vDC cigarette power plug to the (solder finished) end of the whip power cord wires. The LED whip strips only draw between 1.5 amps (3 foot) to 3.0 amps (6 foot) 12vDC depending upon the length for the whip.General Construction - The LED whip appears to be made from a clear flexible polycarbonate tube (some folks prefer a opaque/milk white tube for more uniform lighting than LEDs in a clear tube. The clear tube has three interior LED strips running the length of the whip, providing multiple programmed colors and patterns, including white, and solid or variable colors (see JPG of remote details). The whip also has the following flag mounting hardware - two adjustable rubber-padded tube clamps with stainless bolts and ny-loc bolts, and two aluminum carabiner loops to mount the included USA flag - or another safety flag of your choice.Detachable Whip - The mounting hardware allows for easy removal of LED whip when not in use. The mounting socket best resembles a special oxygen sensor socket tool with a wire slot along its length, to allow for the power cord, and to hold the whip firmly. An easily removable "round wire locking retaining pin" (see photo) holds the whip shaft in the mounting socket. The detachable power cord is of simple, and with careful use, reasonably reliable design. It won't likely stand up to rough use/abuse so be prepared for possible repair at some point. We recommend sliding the whip and its power cord carefully in and out of the whip mount socket when installing or removing it. The long part of the power cord is detachable (if desired) from the whip via a screw collar retainer and an indexed two-connector male and female connector that has an o-ring seal. If treated gently, this mount, retaining pin, and simple power cord design should be fine compared to other trouble-prone interior/integrated/proprietary power sockets. When the whip is removed, no connectors are exposed to moisture/the weather for corrosion considerations. Note: Product posting on Amazon claims an IP65 waterproof rating, manufacturer's site does not mention an IP65 rating. The whip tube is sealed with a flexible sealant at the bottom and a black cap (possibly with sealant) at the top.The small RF wireless mini-remote thoughtfully comes both with a CR2025 battery installed, and an extra CR2025 battery. Be sure to remove the clear battery isolating/shipping strip before using the remote.Specs from the manufacture's site:"The OLS RGB LED whip comes in multiple sizes and have a universal mount, making it suitable for all types of off-roading automobiles. Lighted whips are great!(flags, not so much)
The whips are bright, easy to set up and synchronize and generally work great. The flag clamps work well, but the flags started to fray at the ends on the first trip around town. Buy it for the whips, buy the flags someplace else to replace the ones that come with it. Wire length was not enough to reach mid buggy to the fuse panel but that's no big deal. Love the look and extra visibility on the road.

Love these!
Love these! I installed on my kayak fishing trailer and love them. They were easy to install, easy to operate, and well made. I was driving on a road through the mountains and got pulled over by a California Highway Patrol officer. I wasn’t speeding. He casually walked up beside my car and asked me what kind of lights were added to my existing kayak trailer. I told him they were whip lights. He loved them and asked if he could inspect them. I let him and he said he wished ever trailer had them on. He said he could clearly see me braking before the twist abs turns, and said that these light just might save my life. They get a lot of attention and boat ramps too.

Could Use Improvement
Easy to install. Has positive and negative wire at the end of the light. All you do is add a terminal ring connector and hook it up to the battery. I saw a post that said warning it will catch fire. Upon further inspection, I did not see any fuse on the light so I could see where someone had a bad experience. I got an inline fuse with 3 amp fuse blade. If anything were to happen, the fuse will blow and hopefully prevent any sparking which can contribute to a fire. The light is bright but these are not the spiral LED. It's just an LED strip inside the tube. The picture shows an image where you can bend the light back 180 degrees, you can't do that. It will snap for sure. It's really stiff. This is the difference between a $100 light compared to $200-$300 on the market. It comes with 2 remote. I wish it was app controlled because the remote is not waterproof and it can break. If these lights were bluetooth and app controlled, you don't have to worry about losing or breaking your remote. Someone mentioned that the lights does not sync together with the same color. What I did is use both remote and press at the same time. It seems to work for me to keep both lights on the same color. Overall, it's okay for the price. It's a little cheap. I feel like this unit should be worth about $60-$80 for a pair. It's just a clear tube with LED strip. You can get those strip for $10 and a clear tube for about the same price and make your own for under $60 for a pair. You can get caps on each end and silicone to waterproof the inside. Normally LED strip are waterproof anyways the caps is to seal any moisture trying to get inside and that's it. You'll have your own lights for half the price as this

*Updated* Wire on bottoms of whip turns out to be weak* Sturdy, bright and removable!
Great whip Light. I wanted a little shorter whip because I do a lot of trail riding in the trees. This whip light has held up very well. The flag was on the cheaper side and unfortunately after a 100 mile ride last weekend, it disappeared leaving only a grommet and a hook but it can be replaced. I received many positive comments on it.*Update: The only flaw if the wires going into the bottom of the whip are weak and will short out. Quit working after about 5 months. Tried to fix it myself but could not. Really like this whip, but frustrated that it no longer works after such a short time.

Stopped working too soon
Bought these whip flags thinking they’d be a solid addition, but after only a short time of use, they’ve already stopped working. I didn’t bend them, and I even kept them down while driving on the highway to avoid damage. Still, they just don’t turn on anymore. Pretty disappointed considering how little use they got. Definitely expected better durability.
