Well made and a steal for the price
I just received and assembled this lamp. It’s worth a review. Unless it quits working, it’s a steal for the discounted price (I paid forty) compared to site and big box competitors— if it meets your needs. There are a few things that are useful to know about it. This lamp comes with the two ‘smart’ bulbs and the AA batteries for the remote all in the box (worth the price right there). It’s very well packaged for preventing scratches and breakage. All packing materials are easily recycled except the styrofoam. Save yourself a little frustration and grab a pair of scissors before you start to remove all the plastic wraps on the tubes (they don’t tear easily or slide off). Straighten out the twists and kinks in the cord from the top down before you start. All threads are well drilled and smoothly assembled. Follow the order of the assembly on the diagram in the instructions and it goes together from box to bulbs in under 10 minutes. The only slight change I’d suggest is to put the whole stem of the lamp together before attaching it to the base. If you’ve never assembled one of these lamps, it requires gently pulling a bit of extra cord out through the bottom of the tube as you screw together each higher section of tube. That’s much harder if it’s already attached to the base. One more tip - oddly, the two plastic nuts that hold the hoods onto the respective lamps are not interchangeable. So if you have trouble seating/threading one of the nuts (as I did), try using the other one - both of mine fit perfectly once I did that. The base is very heavy and sturdy. The matte black finish is a nice slightly textured powdercoat. No defects or scratches anywhere in the finish. The hoods are cheap plastic as you would expect at this price. They’re stark white, translucent but you cannot see through them without the bulb turned on. All the parts are sturdy and surprisingly well made. When the small side lamp is bent down parallel to the floor, the bulb will show a bit beneath the edge of the hood, if that bothers you. About the functionality — There are two separate sets of buttons on the remote, one set for each lamp on the fixture. The dimming feature only works (1) through the remote *and* (2) if you’re using ‘smart’ bulbs. There are manual switches on each of the two lamps but they only turn on and off, no dimming capability (and btw they both need to be manually switched ‘on’ before you use the remote for the first time). You can also use the lamps with any regular bulb — but a regular bulb will not connect to the remote and therefore the lamps will not have a dimmer function. I’ve read other reviewers having trouble getting replacement bulbs from the manufacturer. I haven’t tried this, but it seems possible that any brand of ‘smart’ bulb (from a big box store or here on AMZN) might work — there are directions in the instruction pamphlet for the (simple) required steps to sync a new bulb to the remote. The included bulbs are marked as 3000K to 6000K. Kelvins refer to the color temperature — oversimplified, 2700K-3000K is the ‘warm’ light of an incandescent light bulb and higher kelvins translate to ‘colder’ light quality (like hospitals and daylight). So you could expect that the light from these bulbs gets warmer as you dim it down. However, in these lamps the light is not ‘warmer’ at the lowest dimmed setting, just less light emitted. The bulb ‘color temperature’ and the bulb ‘brightness’ are controlled by two separate sets of buttons on the remote — which is a nice feature! Bright/dim is controlled by the sunburst icons. Color temperature is controlled by the ‘CCT’ buttons (standing for Change Color Temperature?). On the coolest and brightest settings, these bulbs emit very bright, stark ‘white’ light (no yellow tint), especially through the white hoods. This is perfect for our intended use in the basement laundry room. You can long-press the CCT button to fine tune the color temperature for other needs/settings and then also separately dim/brighten the strength of the light. I liked the lamp so much I borrowed it for my office for some extra light in there last night, on warmer settings. Only time will tell about longevity and durability, and I can’t speak to customer service in the event of an issue. A PB or RH lamp this is not. But on Day 1 it’s great for the price and our needs.

Great Lamp
We loved this lamp so much we bought 2 more. Our living room has a northern exposure lack of sunlight is an issue. These lamps help light the area very well. The lamps assembled easily, and the remotes work independently which is a plus. We would recommend these lamps.

Great when it works!
I bought 2 of these, for rooms where there is no central ceiling light. The brightness functions and warmth of light features are GREAT! And I bought these because I wanted a remote control and bright lights. HOWEVER. On one of them the bigger light started going on the fritz within 2 months. I replaced the bulb, nothing. Eventually it no longer worked with the remote, and the fix on the website didn't work. So now you can no longer control the light brightness or coloring, because there is no manual button for that. And I can only get it to turn on/off by walking over and turning the knob on the lamp. That's inconvenient when I bought the light to be able to be turned on from the doorway of a dark room. I am hoping the other light does not do the same, but I will wait and see. So the one that works, I love! The one that went rogue...is kinda useless now, since I can't access the brightness or color features--just on/off. Thankfully, Amazon refunded me for that one. If you get this, assemble it and use it right away so you will know if you got a dud!

Floor and reading lamp
I bought this to replace an existing floor lamp and the wife absolutely loves it. I like the fact that it has different light colors that can be dimmed or brightened as needed. My wife uses it to read her books, yes people do still read actual books these days, and she loves the fact that it has a remote control option. I usually run the soft white (yellow) setting and my wife prefers the cool white (in your face vibrant white) so it’s nice you can switch between them on a single lamp. It is slightly wider than our other floor lamp, due to the fact it has the secondary reading lamp but it’s pretty stable and it’s tall enough to disperse the light without blinding you.

One of the bulbs is not working and are they expensive!
Nowhere on this lamp's description does it say the led lightbulbs are remote controlled, not the lamp. Remote controlled light bulbs cost $11-8 each depending how many you buy. Point is, the lamp is not remote controlled, only the bulbs. so when one bulb arrived humming and I replaced it with another LED bulb, the remote did not work. You have to buy another 60hz 7-10W dimmable remote controlled bulb. And most come with a new remote, in fact I have not found any sold without one, which is why the are so expensive. The broken one hums loudly and heats up more than the other one. I bought the lamp on sale as it has plastic domes and came with a remote, bulbs, and battery. With the plastic shades, I figured it was a cheap lamp, but at least it comes with its bulbs. Actually the bulbs are the most expensive part and Amazon says I can return the lamp for a full refund or replacement. Only two options. I don't want to spend an hour or more and drive 30 miles to return the lamp, I just want a new bulb. So I am deducting 2 stars and wondering about Amazon. You know they bought a bunch of these cheap, so you would think they could just send me a replacement bulb or tell me where to buy a cheaper replacement that would match this remote without me wasting my time and effort as well as theirs. .
