The most Nerf fun.
I was a Nerf kid. Had a ton of them. As an adult the first thing that had caught my eye was Rival, and I have a couple of them. They are a ton of fun. Somehow or other, years later, I stumble across these gel guns and the Nerf name came up too. While there are others that I have considered buying, the design and lower FPS of this blaster appeal more to me and the potential use around peoples younger than myself. They do sting a little and soft areas may leave a mark, but not for long, and even the sting is gone within seconds. Yes eye wear is a must with these! It’s as accurate as any Nerf I’ve used before. Maybe some stuff is better, IDK, this is still fun and has enough range and accuracy for me to have the fun I’m looking for.I went with the Nerf name because it’s the one I know best. It’s built very well. Good size for me when extended. I’m very tall and long armed. I’ll point out single fire is a little slow, but fun. Full auto is what I got this for. Has great feature based around the battery. Look into that if you are interested and haven’t already. The bolt stayed closed to prevent multi ball feeds. Very nice. Works well. Haven’t found an issue with that yet. You may have heard of some feed issues, what can I say, it does. Oh well. If you are running around it shouldn’t be an issue.I would like to see more blasters soon. A fix to the hopper. There are ones out there with mags that seem to be really solid feeding. A rifle with some adjustability for range and a burst fire. The glowing stuff could be cool. Maybe use the rail in front of the hopper on this one to mount some led thing to charge the hopper, because it’s tacti-useless otherwise. And if I have a gripe, it’s that they slapped the word pro on here and haven’t seemed to apply some pro features for performance in the cost. Maybe there’s a reason why. I’ll wait for a YouTuber to open one up. Should also be maybe $50-60, not $80, but they still got my money anyway. Probably on the next one too. This is fun! Buy it if you like Nerf and how this looks. Works well enough to get you and your friends and family outdoors and having fun.

Much better than the similarly priced gel guns
I was hesitant to purchase this after seeing several youtube videos of people comparing the nerf to much more expensive gel guns and basically faulting the nerf for only averaging around 130fps, nerf initially launched this at around 60 to 80 dollars I believe and for that money you could buy a splaterball or gelblaster or a number of other gel guns that shoot at much higher fps, here is the difference though, the nerf has larger beefier gears inside meaning it will last longer than those other guns, full auto wears down the gears and nerf will be able to handle it longer than the competition, also the 130fps I can attest is not underpowered, if you are hit in jeans from a distance you won't feel much, point blank and it will feel like a quick pinch, a shot to a t-shirt will feel like a rubber band snapping you, it does hurt but it's pretty much the perfect amount of pain, it's real quick and gets your attention but then gone just as quick, it's hurts enough to be fun but not enough that you don't want to continue playing, now getting hit on bare skin, especially close, hurts and will hurt for a second or two after the hit, it will redden the area but will not cause a welt or anything like that, so although you tube channels have criticized nerf for not pushing this to 175 or 200fps, nerf wisely found the sweet spot that is fun to play with for everybody adults and children, and I can also attest to that the quality of the gun is light years better than any of the Amazon gel guns in the 25 to 50 dollar price range, at 34 dollars this thing is a steal, I bought a bunch of the other blasters in this price range and they are all much smaller than what the pics make them look like, much lighter and generally just feel cheap, for 50 dollars or less the best gel guns you can buy are this nerf for 34 or the gel blaster surge for 50, the surge has a very good build quality, has the battery built in which is alitte more convenient but shots can hit 175fps, which I'd say is kind of the limit for "fun" and probably won't be fun for younger children but is probably perfect for adults who don't want to have to get a ton of protective gear, their are other blasters pushing 200 to 250fps which is now welt territory, so all in all the nerf is the best bang for your buck and the best for mixed play of kids and adults

Nerf Pro Gelfire Mythic - Great when they are on sale.
This review is for the Nerf Pro Gelfire Mythic. A solid gel blaster, but normally overpriced. They function as advertised. They also seem pretty durable. Although, I am thankful I only paid what I did. I purchased 2 of these when they were on sale for $37. This is a $40 gel blaster at most. As soon as you get past the $40 range, there are so many other options. The 2 best features about the nerf mythic is probably the safety factor (lower fps, about 110-130fps on average) and the blaster's durability. Battery life is not an issue, we have gone for about 1.5 hours of play now and about 3000 gellets (gel pellets) without a recharge.Range:The effective range on these is about 60ft. At 60ft shooting at a slight arc, on single fire mode, you can hit what you are aiming at half of the time. I think 80ft is about as far as they shoot using a significant arc. Using short bursts of full auto is necessary for the longer ranges. At 40ft they are pretty accurate, effective and tons of fun. They sting and leave minor welts at distances under 10ft.Make sure your ammo is fully hydrated for the best results. Slightly smaller diameter ammo performance is awful.

Good gift - combined with targets
Grandson wanted a gel gun for his 12th birthday. This one is only medium sized compared to one a friend has, but it makes a good noise and shoots the gel pellets plenty far enough. I read up a lot before buying because I was concerned about use for shooting at each other. Much less messy than paintball, at least. Kid is supposed to be 14, but grandson is is pretty reasonable to follow instructions. It came with eye protector. I got extra gel ammunition (Note: has to be soaked 4 hours to be used effectively). I also bought reusable targets that don't picture a human being. Result-- He and friend really enjoy the target shooting (awfully good at it, too)
