POWERTEC 70113V 4-Inch Dust Collection Coupling for 4" OD Fittings and Adapters, 1 PK

Straightforward product that works well. I used this to split off a smaller section of dust collection hose from my main 4in line to a 2.5in line that leads to my miter saw. You obviously need hose clamps or tape to connect everything up, but this works well. The plastic seems thick and durable. Wish the price was just a touch lower since the price of all these different adapters in even a modest dust collection system really adds up, but otherwise good splitter.

Used in my table saw to extend the dust collector output. Fits good and tight. I’m a happy woodworker now.

So, let me lead with saying I have no idea what this was actually intended for by the manufacturer. All I know is I needed a 4 inch "nominal" diameter object to connect from the intake of a 1997 F250 7.3L to a NAPA 6637 filter because I leaned too hard on the stock intake box and broke the plastic (thereby ruining that whole "seal" thing that supposed to happen to prevent dust from getting sucked into the engine.) I visited the hardware store first and came up with a few mediocre solutions with PVC fittings that would... work... then saw this. For less money, this solves the problem by actually fitting (OD of the truck's fittings was about 4 1/4, ID about 3 7/8 - this fits in the ID with a little bit of give that you can clamp down on with a 4" hose clamp on either end). Again, don't know what this thing was SUPPOSED to be fore, but it sure does do a great job as a cheap intake pipe for my truck :-)

Be aware that these Pipe Hose Adapters cannot be used as quick disconnects with other Powertec fittings such as Y fittings and elbows. In that application they are very loose and will fall off easily. I did not try them with any 4 inch pipe so I cannot speak to how well they might work there. Other than that they appear to be well made fittings that can be used as quick disconnects with 4 inch dust ports on power equipment. The hose side fits very tightly inside a 4 inch flexible hose - in fact it takes a bit of patience to work the hose onto the fitting so a clamp may not be necessary depending on your hose diameter. The pipe end fit snugly on the equipment that I have that have 4 inch dust ports.

It only fits powertec with other powertec items. None of my power tools 4” dust port will fit this item. I gave it a 5 stars for the price. It’s the cheapest one out there. It will fit my tools with a help of a heat gun. Also, this item does NOT fit any dust right brand connectors or hoses perfectly, either its very loose or it will not fit at all. But for a cheaper alternative I will make it fit with a heat gun or additional tape.
