This grabs the hair for styling without tangling. There are plenty of bristles and it is very sturdy. From the photo, I was worried that the bristles would be too sparse, but they are just right. I'm very happy with this brush.

I purchased the larger size of this brush for my curly/wavy hair after I had tried out three other brushes at Ulta. This brush was AWESOME. I only had to go through each group of hair twice to get a straight, frizz-free look with volume. The end of the bristles get hot, so I avoided touching my scalp but I think that's why hair is so smooth, it's like a blow drying and flat iron in one. Great volume too. I highly recommend! You can find different sizes in stores, including Ulta if not available on Amazon. Unless you have a pixie cut, I would recommend the bigger sizes so you don't have to turn the brush and so that your hair doesn't snag.
