Honestly, for me, it was a purchase filled with apprehension. On one hand, in my mind, spending MORE than the TV for a soundbar is RIDICULOUS (but they are out there - soundbars that cost several HUNDREDs of dollars). On the other hand, the $80-dollar soundbar I previously purchased - although GOOD, did not resolve my biggest problem. That is, somethings are HUGELY loud, and others are UNBELIEVABLY soft, as VOLUME goes. Whether it is your own MEDIA, streaming, or what happens to be "ON the TV" - a consistent volume is a major issue for me. Right off the top, this soundbar - DOES correct this issue. It makes SOFT louder, and LOUD softer, with an algorithm that attempts to NORMALIZE everything. On top of that, it does have some "voice clarity" features that are far better than I could have hoped for. In short - not only does this thing WORK, it far exceeds my expectations in every way. It also has the latest POWER SAVING ENERGY STAR features, and; it has a really cool "show you the display while you are doing things", then the display TURNS OFF. That is really a nice FEATURE. And, UNLIKE many, my desire for a SOUND BAR is not so that I have the ability to BLAST everyone out of the room. It is so that I can ENJOY TV, by turning it on, and NOT having to TURN the volume UP and DOWN - from hour to hour. THAT is truly a blessing - not having to do that... This ZVOX sound bar FAR EXCEEDED my most HOPEFUL expectations!

The scenario was always the same. I would say, "Turn it down!" My wife would reply, "But they always whisper or mumble." And this was even with a nice sound bar, not the tinny tv speaker. The fact that this unit claimed to use hearing aide technology seemed intriguing. It was easy to set up. Comes with 2 remotes. One is supposedly to be used to fine tune in collaboration with an audiologist. Didn't even need that. With a couple of minor adjustments on the main remote the frequencies for voices were enhanced and even the whispering and mumbling popped right out. Especially at moderate volume. An excellent unit.

I purchased this because my wife and I have trouble hearing tv dialog. Part of that is because we have an open floor plan with surround sound speakers in the ceiling. Part is because actors and actresses do not take voice lessons and directors want their actors to sound like they would in real life. This is horrendous on crime and street action tv shows as actors slur words and use slang. But part of it is our hearing. As we age we develop hearing problems. In any event we were watching a show through our surround sound and couldn't understand the dialog. We changed to this soundbar, replayed the scenes we couldn't hear, and then we could hear it perfectly though the sound bar. So this performed exactly the way we wanted it to. The reason that I gave it 4 stars is for those who think this will simulate surround sound. I don't think that part of this device is a home run. When I switched to it's best surround sound option, there wasn't a noticeable difference in terms of background sound effects and a surround sound feeling. It's not a big issue for us as we have a great surround sound system and that's the default setting on our tv. So we'll use that for action movies and this bar for dialog heavy. So if you have no surround sound system, get this bar if you have hearing problems and that's a big issue. But if you're looking for true surround sound go to a store and listen to the various sound bars or consider installing a surround sound system to go along with this bar.

I highly recommend this Sound Bar from ZVOX Audio. My husband and I purchased this item after seeing it reviewed in our local paper. It is specifically designed for those who are hard of hearing and has an audiology fine tuning feature available if needed in the future. It is easy to install and fits nicely in front of our television. The sound is amazing! Before purchasing this sound bar, we sometimes had our tv tuned between 15 and 40; it is now set between 10-11. It is unbelievable! I also want to recognize the outstanding customer service they provided. When I called the company, the phone was promptly answered and I spoke to an actual person. This is a great product and we are very, very pleased with it. I highly recommend it.

The AV205 soundbar works really well. As with the AV200, it's easy to set up and use. However (and this is the reason for the 3-star rating), it is a bit quirky. I set it up through the TV input first and the following day, there was a LOUD noise coming through the speakers. Then I set it up a different way...same thing. The only way it works is if I connect it directly to the cable box. This wouldn't bother me except that I usually just turn off the TV and leave the cable box on...now I have to turn both off. Like I said, not such a big deal, but I was disappointed that the same setup from my AV200s (I have that one on 2 other TVs) didn't work. The sound and everything else is fine!

I brought the ZVOX AccuVoice AV205 sound bar for my Samsung 65 inch QLED television mainly for the clear sound when watching the news and movies. It took less than 15 minutes to installed and set the ZVOX sound bar. I watch CNN news for an hour, the voice was very clear and crisp, great incredible sound coming from the sound bar. I turn the television and sound bar off. Later in the evening there was no sound when attempting to watch a movie on Netflix. I install the sound bar then reinstall it. Final got voice and music from the sound bar, the sound was incredible clear, easy to hear and understand. The next day, no sound when attempting to watch CNN. Return the ZVOX AccuVoice AV205 Sound Bar to Amazon. I read a post that stated that the ZVOX sound bar doesn't work on Samsung's television. I now believe that it doesn't work well on a Samsung television. In good faith I can not recommend the ZVOX AccuVoice AV205 sound bar.
