Great sealer! I love it.

Because we often purchase meat as a half or a whole directly from the farms where they were raised, I often end up having to process and package the meat myself. I have a meat grinder and often grind my own hamburger...but the process of trying to package everything to freeze has been my least favorite activity. It's a pain to *try* to squeeze the air out of the packages and then hope that zipper seals actually work without catching or getting meat or juices on them. If there is too much air in them, they get frostbitten within a very short period of time, so I always worry about that.I purchased this vacuum sealing system primarily for that reason - just to cut down on the effort on my part and to preserve the meat better.My observations: This is quite simple to use and there are a variety of options. I'm primarily going to be using this for sealing various sizes of bags. I'm a wee bit (haha) OCD when it comes to my freezers - I want everything to be stacked and in their right places...so I have been planning out and trying to figure out exactly how I want to stack different cuts of meat and in what size packages. I have definitely discovered that we tend to use either one or two pound packages of hamburger meat, depending on what dish we are making and how hungry we are. This has worked wonderfully for that purpose and I have not had any bags reinflate at all. It looks very much like packaging I've gotten when I once paid a expensive meat processor to package and freeze my meat for me. This is already saving me money and will save me a couple hundred dollars per cow just for processing. It is a bit noisy, but that can be expected. It only takes a few seconds to not only get the air out but also to seal the package....far less time than it would take me when I was putting them in the zipper freezer bags, having to push the air out and then double-bagging them in the hopes that I did it well enough.I also prefer to buy snacks in bulk then repackage for individual snacking. With this sealer it keeps my snacks so much fresher than just zip bags. It doesn’t even crush my crackers too much lol. It’s the perfect solution for longtime freshness!Overall, I'm quite pleased. My confidence in how long the meat and snacks will keep has increased tremendously and this is fast and easy to use.
