Would they leave a mark on a painted floor?

My floor is wood & sometimes I drag the table to move it & I've never seen any residue from them after that so I don't think your painted floor would get marked either.

Will this stretch the front legs are square, and the back are rectangular

I can't answer that question....the back legs on my chairs are rectangle and the front are square,I measured the front and they measure 2 inches square but when I got them they are a little large so I put double sided tape in the bottom and they work fine, just wish they were a little snug.I would think they would stretch a little. I have them on the back legs of my chairs and they stretch a little.

If the legs are 1x1 should I buy 1x1 size or 1x1/2? Not sure how much they strech.

I did the same thing! I had 1 x 1 square leg bought these 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 they are too sloppy. I ordered the 1 x 1 and used them on my application. There is a small amount of stretch, worked great
