This book is great for someone who wishes to learn how to play jazz, or for someone who knows a little and wants to become more proficient. I used this book by myself for a while, and am currently using it with my teacher as a more structured and practice tool.

I did not get a cd with this book. As advertised.

Good overview of jazz tools. Quite handy to lookup stuff quickly.
