Opening it up was everything I was hoping for. Sturdy, well-made and very nice. The hamon is really impressive. Best part they sent a stand and silk case came with this katana. Everything is tight just feels good on the hand. While cleaning off the blade you can feel very light high spots ever so slight you can barely see them. I know from that it was hand forged. They did a great job with the high gloss finish. I am impressed for a $200 katana. Hanbon forge shipped it fast. Thank You.

This is great katana for the price. Well made. All fittings are well in place. The tsuba and koshira are blackened steel. The blade is sharp with a natural hamon, not steel brushed like most katanas of the cheaper variety. The saya is well constructed, the katana is a tight fit (no katana rattling when sheated) and the sageo is thick and nicely knotted.I have no doubt this is a very sharp katana but I have no idea how long it will retain its sharpness when subjected to mat cutting. Just remember this is a $189.00 Katana and you get what you paid for.
