Makes math fun
Great game. My 4 (almost 5) year old needs help with the math but he loves to play and it’s really helping him learn the basics. I was impressed because he usually balks at anything educational. We use the volcano for every roll to make it more fun.Game is super simple to set up and easy to understand. Would recommend.

Learning math while having fun with the whole family
My 6 year old absolutely loves this game. She’s in first grade and working on building her addition and subtraction skills and this makes it way more fun. It’s also fun for the whole family. Even our 4 year old likes it and our 6 year old can help him with the math. It’s a pretty durable and sturdy set so you don’t have to worry too much about it getting broken (as most things do with little kids). Its functionality is perfect for learning math while having fun! The size is about like any other board game. The concept is super cute. If you have a little one in elementary school this is the way to go!

Lots of addition and subtraction practice in a way kids like
I like this game. The game pieces are of a decent quality. We have owned it for well over a year and it still looks nice. Even the box is in good shape. Not because of gentle usage. My kids enjoy playing Math Island, which is most important. It is great practice for addition and subtraction up to 20. For my kid who is barely grasping addition I take the +/- die out of the game and we just work on addition.I would say if you have a kid that absolutely dreads math worksheets, this game is an excellent way to get them doing math problems without feeling overwhelmed. I brought in some blocks, which I feel in the game box, so my math hater can count the blocks if she's not sure how many places she should move. My kids that are good at math find it fun and are practicing adding in their heads, a useful life skill. The game concept is easy enough to understand that my kids mostly play it on their own now. Another benefit. If there is anything that I don't like about the game it is how big the gap between players can be just because of the roll of the dice. If one kid gets 10 plus 10 in a roll and the other gets 10 minus ten, there gets to be a huge gap between players. And the math isn't so fun if you are at the back of the board while someone else is winning. That would be my only "bone to pick," if you will.

Great board game!
My 6 year olds new favorite game! It’s so fun to watch him enjoy math in the form of a game and he’s asked to play it everyday since we received it.

Have seen huge improvement in son with dyslexia
Cannot say enough good things about it. My second grader was struggling with math as he has dyslexia. However, this has totally strengthened his math facts and increased his confidence. He doesn't even realize he's "doing math". It's more fun than candy land was for us as kids! He and his sister play 2 rounds every night before bed. Little sister is in kindergarten and she also loves it! I enjoy playing as well.

The game really help to practice math. My kid loves it.
I ordered the game to teach my 6yo son to subtraction and more advance (up to 20) addition. He loves to play it. Of course I have to spend time to explain to him these mathematical examples. It works the best with some kind of tokens. For example I use candies. When he gets an example like: 9-5I ask him: "Imagine, you had 9 candies. You decided to give 5, how many do you left for yourself?" .I give him 9 candies for start, he gives me 5 candies and figures out that he has 4 left. After 2 week of every day playing, I see significant improvements: we don't need candies, he can use his fingers for most of the cases if he wants. More and more he starts solving problems quicker and in his head without using additional tools. The price could be cheaper , but overall, the most important in this game is that he wants to play it and enjoys it. (Otherwise I hardly imaging forcing him to do math with a paper and pen :D ).Parents need to invest time, explain, be patient and supporting.THE MOST IMPORTANT: You (the adult!) wanna let you kid win in this game! This keeps them motivated and they will want to play. One cheating advise: try to set the dice with operation to minus (-), this way you ensure that you won't throw a very big number and won't advance that quickly as your child.Enjoy!P.S. If you child is 3-4yo I would recommend game Zahlenzauber. My kid well in love with that game at that age, and playing it, he learned to recognize numbers and counting to 10 in 1-2 weeks. Now I am searching for some similar hit games. I've tried multiple games before, not allow them did that great job as these two.
