Solid performance.
Had another one of these on my kayak for 5 years and wanted to upgrade all my wiring, so bought this new one. Am hoping to get the same years of service out of this one.

FWD- Reverse switch failed
FWD REV switch failed second use . i can still get motor to go FWD but not reverse . Not sure if it's a controller problem or the switch that went bad . for now i'll live with the FWD only but will end up replacing this with a better motor controller .don't want to buy just a switch if the problem is the controller. Edited to note that seller is stepping up and sending a new controller . I't good to know they will reach out after the return date and give a solution

Runs very hot with 45lb trolling motor
The media could not be loaded. First off- Customer service is indeed excellent, though a little slow. This unit does run hot so if you plan to use it on a kayak, canoe or other boat and would like to put it in a waterproof housing it is not ideal. I put mine in a waterproof box and ran it for 45 minutes or so on a 21℃/70℉ day. Mostly at 100% but also varied between 25-45% and the air around the unit went up to 52℃/126℉. I also bought a battery monitor that has a thermometer, I highly recommend it- https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07759SLYP ) They responded that the highest temp this unit can tolerate is 70℃/158℉ but recommend keeping it below 65℃/149℉. They actually recommended another unit of theirs (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B5MMQKJY) for less heat. I have not used that yet. The idea is to get a controller with much higher amp/watt ratings than you need and heat will be less of a problem. A fan in a watertight box does nothing so don't bother unless adding holes. The MK Traxxis controller is another good option with supposedly no heat issues but $$$ (Video shows test at 25%, very little heat generated at lower %. Big temp difference when going to 100%)
