POCOctal Bike Helmet - Exceptionally lightweight helmet for road cycling including MIPS

I bought this to go on my head, and it does exactly that. Perfect.

Was turned onto poc many years back as they fit my head very well. I love the MTB helmets full coverage and POC were the first to do this. I truly believe all the iterations of their helmets are an upgrade from the previous and this one is no different. I wear this for mainly gravel and road cycling and it’s one of those things you forget you are wearing due to its comfort. Aside comfort of course the safety aspect is key and in POC I trust.I honestly believe this company make the very best helmets on the market - so much so my whole family wears only POC too.

When u first got the hemet, you can tell how premium it looks and the build quality is exceptional. However, the helmet did not fit me. I measured my head to be 56cm but it did not fit my head due to it being to narrow. This means that if you have a round head, the helmet will not fit. I’m sure it’ll be great for those with an oval head.

Wasn’t a big fan of the fit or look - sent back after looking in the mirror! Protection wise I’m sure it’s decent but it was also a bit uncomfy

Con sistema MIPS y si lo coges en oferta, es un gran casco, en todos los sentidos. Porque es más voluminoso que otros modelos incluso de la misma marca. A mí me encanta estéticamente. Pero eso es cuestión de gustos.

J'ai acheté ce casque il y a déjà quelques jours, je bavais dessus depuis un an ! Du coup j'ai acheté le nouveau modèle, ce orange est bien voyant, voir fluo. J'ai déjà fait avec 4 sorties vélo, lors de la première j'avais l'impression de pas avoir de casque tellement il est léger et je me suis vu mettre la main sur la tête afin de savoir si je l'avais pas oublié !! A la deuxième sortie, je me suis fait piqué par deux guêpes qui sont restées coincées dans les grilles d'aération du casque... peut être voir pour mettre un filet anti-guêpe sur la version 2023 ? C'est le seul hic du casque, sinon très aérants et respirants. Je ne regrette en aucun cas cet achat. Je le recommande, attendre peut être des promotions comme je l'ai fait car prix un peu Excessif... mais la sécurité n'a pas de prix.... en tout cas c'est ce qui est dit...

Der Helm ist einfach nur genial! Habe ihn heute zum ersten Mal beim Fahrradfahren getragen und praktisch nicht gespürt. Mein Vorgänger war der POC Ventral Air Spin. Verbesserungen sind auf jeden Fall das niedrigere Gewicht trotz Mips zum Ventral Air Spin (also ohne Mips, dafür mit der POC eigenen Spin Technologie. Da kann ich jetzt nicht sagen, was besser ist, nur dass Spin laut POC ebenfalls die Rotationskräfte beim Sturz reduzieren soll. Der Ventral war aber ebenfalls schon sehr leicht und man hatte ihn kaum gespürt). Interessant wird es erst bei einer längeren Ausfahrt, wie es sich da verhält. Weiter ist noch zu erwähnen, dass es sich so anfühlt, als würde noch mehr Luft durch den Helm strömen. Das ist im Sommer bestimmt super! (Jetzt im Herbst hab ich mit Mütze aber so gut wie keinen Unterschied gespürt). Die Gurte scheinen auch etwas verbessert worden zu sein, aber das kann beim neueren Ventral ebenfalls der Fall sein, weiß ich leider nicht!Einzig sind bei mir die seitlichen Riemen, die beim Ohr, vom Helm weg, gefühlt etwas zu weit weg vom Gesicht. Das kann so gewollt sein (vielleicht gut für Brillenträger) oder einfach bei mir mit meinem schmalen Gesicht so. Ich habe ein Video zum Octal auf Youtube gesehen und da war es beim Youtuber ebenfalls so. Stören tut es nicht, optisch sieht es auf den ersten Blick etwas komisch aus, vor allem, weil es beim Ventral nicht so ist.Drittes Argument für den Octal, er war in weiß deutlich billiger. Da weiß wohl eine sehr beliebte Farbe ist (bei mir auch), bekommt man solche Helme in der Größe Medium selten zu einem vernünftigen Preis. (UVP: Ventral 260 € zu 200 € Octal).Ich hoffe ich konnte dem einen oder anderen mit meiner Rezension helfen.
