Not difficult to remove old gasket & replace with new. You will need the tool for ease of installation. Fits perfect in our washing machine. After a load of clothes we wipe inside of rubber gasket to avoid mold build up as we previously had.

Found this door boot seal to be identical to the replacement door boot seal. Nice to pay half the price and have equal quality as “certified LG replacement part” and the included clamp tool was perfect for the job! I would not have attempted to use a screw driver as I saw mentioned as a possible clamp removal and installation tool. Using a screw driver or any other tool except supplied wrench would have inevitably driven a hole in the new seal and been a disaster. Screw driver would work fine for removal (and did). Popped a hole right through the old seal :-). Used dish soap in the areas the door seal seats around the drum and door. Whole process was ultimately very satisfying. Good luck!

Perfect replacement. Ours got super moldy. I DIYd this project. Easy install if you watch a YT video. Super bonus points that it came with the spring extender tool. Love it when a product just works. Hopefully it’s durable in the long run, unlike a lot of this other stuff on Amazon that is good for about 6 mo-1 year and then it stops working.

This item is almost a perfect replacement. The gasket from the drum to the door seems to well. The molded arrows seem to be deceiving. Using the arrow on top did not align the side ports correctly. Didn't use the arrow on the left either. Used a more visual approach so the side water ports aligned with the hose connections. The side ports were just off by maybe 1/4 inch to match up with the hose retaining clips. I did match my model with the description on Amazon. My model is LG WM4070HVA. The included pliers are great. However, so much pressure is applied to the eyes on the retaining ring they may spread open and the pliers slip out. With a second pair of hands I got the spring expanded by having someone operate the spring pliers while holding the eye closed with a pair of needle nose pliers.

It’s a bit thinner than the OEM part (and much less expensive) but it fit perfectly and all the hoses and sensor fit right back in place. I ran a load through and no leaks. So I’d say success. I had to go step by step with a video and it took 2-1/2 hours.

Fits perfect with holes in gasket ready to be hooked up, no drilling required. The Pliers were especially helpful and made the process a breeze, completed the task in just over an hour.

I needed a replacement boot gasket for my Kenmore Elite Model 41073. My washer model was not listed in the models this would fit, but I did find the part model number I needed on another website. It gave me MDS47123608, so I searched for it on Amazon, which brought me to this one. I have never replaced something like this, but watched a few YouTube videos first. I also purchased a Washer Spring Expansion Removal Tool on Amazon as well (https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B086YRSQPY?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details), to use on the spring clamps that held the boot gasket on. It worked for the outer one, but not the inner one. It didn't expand enough for that one. It took me about 4-5 hours to replace, but that was lack of experience, user error, and having to come up with some old fashioned ingenuity to get the inner spring clamp back on. The part fit great, once I figured out now to put it on properly. I just did my first load and no leaking water!
