4K but not the best image for the price
The colours that this webcam produce are quite washed out, and the overall image is a bit grainy if your room isn't amazingly lit. It doesn't have great light, and even with my curtains wide open and the room extremely well lit, it still produces a dark image which isn't what you want for a formal business meeting to be honest. The microphone is actually surprisingly good! It's VERY clear and picks up sound really well so you can be sure that your voice will be heard with no problems... There is the odd bit of problem with sibilance where it doesn't react so well to the "s" sound, but otherwise I'm impressed with the microphone! The webcam cover is a nice touch and you can choose whether or not to have it on. The cover fits perfectly and doesn't block any of the image at all, unlike some other webcams I've tried. My main problem with the webcam was the stand it comes with. Most webcams have a triple folding stand, while this only has a double folding stand. If you look in the product pictures, you can see that there's only 2 hinged pieces for the stand. I found that the webcam didn't seem very stable at all on my monitor, and with a small hit to your table or any other small force, the webcam could move or even fall off!Overall, I think this is a decent webcam. However, higher resolution doesn't necessarily make a better camera. In my opinion you're better off buying a premium 1080p webcam for the same price - you'll get a much better image overall. It's not a complete waste of money, but you could do definitely better. For that reason, I've given it 4 stars and wouldn't recommend it for general use unless you specifically want 4k.

Is it a true 4k? Kinda...
The media could not be loaded. So I have given this 4 stars, not 5. There are one or two niggling problems with this, but they are NOT deal-breaking problems. The major problem (as you can see in the video) is that this camera is nowhere near as forgiving as the "old school" cameras used for live casting like the Logitech Brio and Logitech C920. You have to have decent diffused lighting directly on you so that the auto-correcting built into the camera can lock on to your face and not "blow out" the picture. The second niggling point is there is no "Gain" control in the default windows camera setting, there are the usuals like White Balance etc but the Gain feature was a slider that I made heavy use of with the Logitech to get rid of the blowout, that slider is missing for the A8.With good lighting though the picture on this camera is a lot sharper, a lot clearer and is just better than the old C920 I am using, but if you do decide to get this camera, you will need to invest in simple ring light for behind you monitor to shine directly onto you.

great as a webcam
I have other 4k cameras and they have a much better images than this one, that unfortunately leads me to be unsure.I don't know what is going on with this camera and why the images and videos produced are not as great as a 4k should.Another this less pleasant is the plastic feel on the body.In regards to functionality, I have nothing specific to talk about, everything seems fine, great camera for PC webcam.

Excellent picture, decent sound and settings
This Okiolabs webcam comes boxed with a basic Quick Start guide and a USB-A to USB-C adapter. You'll need the adapter if your laptop doesn't have a USB-A port. The overall appearance is functional but smart and build quality seems very good. The webcam has a privacy cover which slides over the lens - much better than having a detachable cover. There are two microphones on either side of the webcam. On the bottom is a mounting hole should you want to mount it on a tripod. There is of course the standard fold-out clip to balance the webcam on your monitor - it works fine on mine and feels stable. The camera can be rotated all the way around easily. Angling/tilting is fairly limited but sufficient for my purposes. The webcam is plug and play, it worked for me straight away on Windows 10. A LED lights up to indicate that the webcam is functional.Picture quality is excellent, with a lovely wide angle and almost no distortion. Settings can be adjusted in Windows but if you want additional control there's the option to download Okiolabs Camera Control software which has advanced settings. The zoom feature is particularly useful.Sound quality is fine but I use a separate mic in any case, as I find that always gets better results. It does seem a little expensive but overall performance is good and it has been working perfectly for me, so I'm very happy with this webcam.

Zoomable and adjustable - works great with downloaded software
This is the sort of camera that I have been waiting for - zoomable and fully adjustable which quite justifies the price. So, you can get a 4K camera for a cheaper price but the price point on this one is justified by the fact that Okiolabs provide software that allows you to: pan; tilt; zoom plus you can adjust colour temperature, tint, contrast, brightness - just about everything apart from depth of focus. In other words it performs very well and the icing on the cake is that once you have set everything up the way that you like it you can save the settings. This means that the settings can be loaded again and multiple settings can be saved for each individual scenario. The software offers updates so there is also the hope of future enhancements. This doesn't take the place of a DSLR but it does come in a close runner-up. This has become my new standard camera for video meetings and certainly justifies its price. Recommended.

Good autofocus - Great resolution
The built quality is good. I like the design, it has a privacy cover to close when not in use. Has dual mic which provide clear sound. Sits perfectly on top of the monitor. Supports 4k resolution for greater details. The picture is clear and colors are sharp.I have tested it for Microsoft Teams call on Windows 10. It worked plug & play and the communication was smooth without distortion or latency. The auto-focusing was quick.Arrived well-packaged as shown in the attached photos. The price is slightly expensive in my opinion.Overall, I am happy to own it and will recommend.
