The birds don't seem to like this (see updated review)
The suet cakes arrived within the expected timeframe and were packaged well. But when I put them out for the birds they stay untouched for weeks. I tried two different flavors and the birds just don't seem interested. The squirrels pass on the cakes as well. On a positive note, the cakes last for weeks through south florida sun and rain without melting. So if your birds like these, they'll likely last a while in the feeder. I've used another brand of seed cake and the birds devour it: Kaytee seed and mealworm treat cake. I'll stick with Kaytee from now on. March 21, 2019 update: I ran out of the Kaytee mealworm and seed cakes I had been using and put one of the Wildlife Sciences cakes out for the birds a few days ago for them to hopefully eat until I could get more Kaytee cakes. I had no expectation of it being popular with the birds since they ignored the first couple of Wildlife Sciences cakes I put out a few months ago, but I didn't want the suet feeder to stand empty. About a day after putting the Wildlife Sciences cake out I noticed the birds eating it! Over the past few days I've seen blue jays visiting it, as well as cardinals, grackles, and a few tiny finch sized birds. The squirrels still pass but that's not a bad thing! We have had several days of heavy, steady rain this week and the cake has not melted. Although the Wildlife Sciences cake doesn't seem as popular as the Kaytee seed cakes, which the birds and squirrels devour within days, it is attracting a steady flow of birds who are feeding from it. I should add that the birds are continuing to feed from it even after I put a Kaytee seed cake in a nearby feeder. So they are visiting the Wildlife Sciences cake because they like it, not because it's the only option in the yard. I am happy to see the birds enjoying this and look forward to putting out the remaining cakes that came in the package. Based on the birds' interest in this cake and its longevity through several days of rain, I am increasing my review from three stars to five stars.

A backyard hit
We cycle through different suets during the year and these are the ones that we put out in the winter. Regardless of the flavor, we tend to get the same sorts of birds on our balcony but I think that's just mostly the population where we live not being very diverse. The birds we do get love them. A note - in very hot weather these will kind of start to melt, and in extreme cold weather, they will freeze.
