Due to another review on here, I bought this for my Intex / Bestway / Costco 9x18 above ground pool. So far so good. The Intex brand cover fell apart after just over a year....little blue specks of plastic EVERYWHERE! I'll report back in the summer with a better long term review. ***UPDATE*** In June 2017 (6 months after purchase) the seams have fallen apart. I am in the process of contacting the seller to get it replaced under warranty. According to other stores, the 12mil blanket has a 2 year manufacturer's warranty. As long as this process goes smoothly, I still recommend this cover. My kids were able to swim in warm water almost all winter in San Diego.

This seller was wonderful!! I have an Intex pool (12'x24'). The cover was slightly bigger than what I needed, so I just trimmed the cover until it fit snugly. The seem had split within a week of using this cover. I contacted the seller and sent pictures, and they promptly sent me out a replacement. During a time of uncertainty and delayed shipping due to the pandemic, this seller exceeded my expectations. I would gladly recommend this seller!! P.S. The cover is great- it keeps my pool water warm during cold evenings that consistently dip into the 60's.

We bought this in 2020 for our very large pool to hopefully keep it warm to extend our season. It works very well. Great heat retention in our chilly nights. We use it in May and September and roll it up and store it away in the off seasons. We are on year 5 now and it’s starting to rip and tear. I imagine we will be able to use it the rest of May but it’ll need to be tossed. I only didn’t give 5 stars because now that it’s time to buy a new one it’s gone up drastically in price and I’m not sure it holds the same value at this price if it can only be used for 9 months.

Best $100 I've spent this year! We rented a house with a pool and found out that it wasn't heated. We didn't want to spend a bunch of money to heat it and our pool guy recommended this type of cover. Our pool was a frigid 63 never seemed to get much higher, even after a heatwave in October (we are in Southern California on the Coast) I purchased an 18 x 30 about the size of our pool and it was very easy to lay out over the pool and then trim the edges to fit. We used the scraps to fill in two areas that the big piece didn't cover. Cutting was extremely easy! This could have been prevented if I had ordered the next size but this was cheaper and worked great. In just two weeks, our pool is up to 78!!!! We actually got to swim in it this weekend. Took less that 3 minutes to take completely off and then back on. I'm pretty confident in the coming weeks, it will continue to rise. We were also surprised that it didn't try to fly away with our Santa Ana winds. It did rain a couple of times and no issues with that either. I purchased the blue because although we hadn't been using the pool, it was still a beautiful blue to look at. Now the cover is an even prettier blue so still looks good. I read a few complaints about people saying theirs was falling apart after a couple of years. I wouldn't care if I had to replace it every year. For $100, well worth it and i'm sure cheaper than alternative methods for heating. Definitely recommend and would buy again.

Purchased June 18th 2023. Used solar cover most of July and Aug 2023. Closed pool early Sept 2023 and stored cover on reel in insulated building from early Sept 2023 to May 2024. Opened pool May 2024. Cover used daily in May and most of June. Solar cover not used daily in July and August. When not in use Solar cover remained elevated on reel. When not in use a protective Heat/Sun cover was in place to protect Solar cover from any direct sunlight. No change in chemical companies and balance of pool water maintained. Heat/Sun protective cover same type used in the past for previous solar cover. Late August started to use cover again only to have it breaking apart. Small blue flakes breaking off from all different parts of the cover. Different sections of the solar cover just split. My last cover (not bought from this company but claimed to be of same quality) lasted 10 years. This cover did not make it through 1 full season. Very disappointed. Not sure if Solar company will stand by its warranty!

This cover works very well to keep your pool chlorine from getting burned off in the sun. And it’s great at warming your pool water. Here in New England, I open my pool around Memorial Day each year, and the temperatures can be down in the 50s at night. But with this cover on during the day, the pool is usually warm enough to swim in by the time I get the chemicals balanced. I don’t need a pool heater. One thing about the warranty. This comes with a 6 year warranty. The cover is made up of sheets of material that are maybe 10 feet wide that are then sealed to one another to make a cover wide enough for your pool. In older models (this is my 3rd), panels were held together by a sturdy tape. The new one I just bought has tape but also stitching, so I expect this will hold up better. However, my last cover fell apart flyer just two seasons. Mostly the failure was in the seams. At the end of last season, the cover was in such bad shape that I threw it out figuring that I’d buy a new one this year. These come with a six year warranty. But when I called the company this spring, they found my record of purchase from 2021, agreed that it was still under warranty, but refused to provide any credit because I did not still have the defective product as proof. So, if you ever need to seek warranty coverage for one of these, be sure to keep the old one around till your claim is settled.

Better than the OEM , thick heavy and durable, will last several seasons 💪❣️

Bought a house with a pool this year and the solar cover was falling apart everytime we touched it. Got this one and it’s great! Easy to put on the reel and kept our pool warm.
