Patriot Viper V770 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard Full RGB/Dedicated Media Controls/Macro Enabled

The Patriot Viper V770 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard is a very nice keyboard for someone like me who is not a gamer. I type a lot on my computer, and there are a few things I need to repeatedly type over and over again. So, I need the ability to set up some macros for those repeated combinations. My previous keyboard, an old Logitech G15, served me quite well until I upgraded to Windows 11. Then, that G15 keyboard was no longer reliable. It would randomly repeat keystrokes, and also randomly leave out keystrokes. And this was happening at least once a minute while typing. Maddening! Made the G15 unusable with my Windows 11 system. After much research, I decided to take a chance on the Patriot Viper V770, even though it was a bit more money than I wanted to spend on a keyboard. I chose the V770 because it had good reviews and the ability to do macros. I'm still getting used to it, but I've had it long enough now to know that it's what I was looking for. I'm an old dog, and learning the macro setup was not super easy for me. But I was able to muddle through it. It works great. For the gamers out there, I can only tell you that the keyboard is solid, and the lights are really cool! I would guess that if I was a gamer, I would really enjoy this keyboard's advanced capabilities. But for the non-gamers, this is a really good keyboard that will enable you to do repeated keystrokes combinations as well as use it for everyday non-exciting computer work. Recommended!

So I purchased this keyboard roughly 9 months ago, back in June of 2018, and I loved it. I still really do; it is by far the best mid-market option for a gaming keyboard. Really if your looking at getting a Cosair or Razer keyboard, don't. This has everything that you need with a really good build quality, which is 75% air-grade brushed aluminum and 25% matte black plastic, and tons of great features. There is no flex in the chassis which is nice especially when playing aggressively, the switches are red kailh switches, which are pretty much the same as mx cherry red switches except a little bit quieter. The macro keys are fun for binding an auto clicker to or certain chat lines, as I don't have much of a professional use for them. The task bar at the top is amazing with the giant volume wheel that can click in along with the 3 smaller switch dials for stop, play, pause, skip, fast forward, back, rewind. The RGB is very nice and vibrant because of the fact that it is located on the top side of the switch instead of under it and is very easy to customize and change with their software, or your could use the like 30+ pre-programmed ones instead. Main keys are pretty close together which is good for typing and gaming (in my opinion) but does collect dust over time which will need to be cleaned with a air canister or PC cleaner. Something that you have to keep in mind is that a few of the more larger main keys are additionally held in place with a metal band/clasp which makes it super tactile and responsive, but might be an issue if your looking to change the key caps. Palm rest is good for typing and is a nice smooth texture, however if you have tiny hands like me you'll find yourself reaching for some of the farther keys (number keys and top row of letters) so I'd recommend taking it off if you experience that. The palm rest RGB can be kinda weird if you don't connect the rest correctly via the magnets, but once you do connect it properly it doesn't budge or disconnect at all while playing. The USB and headphone jack on the sides are very nice for using you headset with or charging you phone but I don't use them that often. All in all, one of the best keyboards on the market and I would highly recommend purchasing it.

Okay, so I hope this isn't premature review, cuz I just receive this keyboard, but I LOVE it. Nice size, doesn't seem like the keys are cramped and enough space that looks like cleaning up with an air duster would be very easy. My last Keyboard (Corsair k70) was very good too but had random moments where it would turn off, stop working and then I ended up knocking a cleaning solution onto it and it (of course) stopped working. I heard the Viper was a better all-round gaming keyboard and decided to give it a try. As long as it doesn't end up having the random turn off moments like Corsair, it will become my new favorite brand. The keys are so smooth and the Light play is so fun! The only thing that makes me cringe, is the detachable armrest has a cool magnetic function, but in the center is a tiny metal 5 prong plugin (so the armrest can light up too) that just seems so fragile and I feel will break one day. Also its a little touchy, so when I move the keyboard to my lap the connection will easily be lost and you have to re-center the prongs back up to the insert. Also, like Corsair, I am not sure this wonderfully expensive keyboard is waterproof and I have no desire to test that out. Overall though, I am in love with this keyboard and I hope it stays that way.

A primo impatto questa tastiera sembrava un'ottima scelta, tuttavia mi sono dovuto ricredere.Si vede che esteticamente la tastiera presenta un materiale di bassa qualità nonostante il tentivo di renderla una tastiera da gaming. Il livello di rumorosità è fin troppo elevato con un rumore metallico di fondo dovuto ad ogni volta che viene premuto un tasto.Il colore del logo e della scritta sono di un colore molto più scuro e meno visibile rispetto a quello presente nella pagina di acquisto.Parlando invece di design, non malissimo il tentativo di emulazione, ma la custodia (a mio parere) poteva essere fatta meglio.Sconsigliatissimo per chi punta ad avere qualcosa di più o comunque una buona qualità dei componenti. Durabilità esente.

Been using this for about 2months with heavy now and its been great, just that the spacebar get a little squeaky.Edit : switches aren't kailh box brown, probably kailh brown or gateron brown. Definitely not box brown though.

Got the V730 coz if u see only diff. between models is the RGB lighting, Amazing build quality, very fast typing very comfortable and loud enough tacticle feedback, dont know what guys r talking about, feels like a corsair but for less money. I have used many keyboards you will not be dissapointed, dont know about gaming but for typing it is really good.
