Libbey Impressions 16-Piece Tumbler and Rocks Glass Set

So I reached into the cabinet to get a glass the other day and it literally exploded in my hand. Believe it or not tempered glass can do that and considering these glasses were 40 years old I guess I shouldn’t have been as shocked as I was. So, I purchased this set of glasses from Libby and threw the others in the garbage. They are very basic, nothing fancy, little indentations on the sides for a better grip. Nice heavy bottom which feels stable and safe. This particular style is manufactured in the U.S. which factored in my decision. Libby has manufacturing plants all over the world including China. The only downside to this design is the little dimple in the bottom of the glass that collects water in the dishwasher. I took a good absorbent drying cloth to the bottoms of them before removing them from the dishwasher to avoid dribbles on their way out. All in all I think they were a good purchase. And since they are NOT tempered glass (I made sure), I don’t have to worry about glass exploding in my face again. (If you don’t believe me Google exploding tempered glass).

We ordered these glasses over a year ago and love them! They are beautiful and comfortable to hold. The glass is high quality and does not cloud after repetitive washings. The only thing to know is that they are more fragile than some so handle and wash with care. Make sure that they are loaded safely in your dishwasher. Even though we have had some breakage, that’s OK because we like these glasses so much. We plan to continue buying them.

I owned a set of these from another store and loved the design and quality. Over time, had some breakage and was delighted to find them on Amazon when I couldn't find them in the stores any more.

I read several reviews saying these were fragile, making me somewhat hesitant to order them. However, we needed new glasses, so I took the risk and ordered them.The claims of this set of fragility seem to be unfounded. All of the pieces arrived in a solid box with heavy cardboard separators between each piece, very well packed and not one of the set were cracked or damaged in any way.These pieces all have a nice solid heavy glass bottom, and the "dimples" in the sides of the glasses in this set are ingenious! It makes the glass extremely easy to hold, whether the glass has condensation on it or not, giving you a nice solid, comfortable feel in your hand.If you like the style/design of this set, they would make an excellent set for every-day use, or as a great gift for someone! You/they will not be disappointed!!UPDATE: I've knocked one of these glasses from counter [34"] onto hardwood floors and did not break. Cat pushed one off dressertop [53+"] onto hardwood floors and that one DID break. I think *most* glassware would break in the second case, so I believe this proves this set of glassware is very sturdy and NOT "fragile" at all. I love them!

Very nice glasses. Love the shape, rim is nice to drink from, the way this glass is made with the indents, very easy to hold and fits hand well. One glass was broken, the larger one when I received these.

I, purchase only this set by Libby. They, are easy to grip, solid lip and thick base. Hold up in the dishwasher. Compliments from my dinner guests. I, found the Impression collection about 20 years ago, and absolutely no complaints. Whenever, one or more get broken by user error. The affordability is well worthwhile.P.S. Love love love these glasses. I first used one at an upscale restaurant, Finally tracked them down here on Amazon. The dimples in the glass make them easy to hold and give them a kick of fun and simple uniqueness without being too fancy.A perfect Unisex design.They are the perfect weight and sizes. Came wonderfully packed in heavy divided cardboard. None were damaged. Buy them! You wont be disappointed. I am picky amd could not be more pleased with them.

Quality is good, weight is fair, the look fancy, easy to clean
