No. You have to have a duck in order to pull the air.

What size circuit and breaker should this be plugged into: 15 or 20 volt?

I have a regular 15amp kitchen wall plug for the fan. It seems to be efficient enough that even at the highest fan settings, it has never tripped the breaker. If you want to upgrade to a 20amp outlet, you will need to call in an electrician to run new, thicker wire too. There is nothing in the manual that recommends a 20amp plug/breaker.

Can this be installed with a side duct. My existing range hood has a duct on the side

No. Ducts are either above, into a cabinet above the hood and out, or rear, out the back of the hood and straight through the wall. There are covers included to allow you to do either installation, but no way to duct it out to the side
