Peter Pan

Honestly, to read some of these reviews you'd think that Tinkerbell was giving BJ's in the back seat and that indigenous people were being massacred by the millions in this book.It's the classic story of Peter Pan. Yes they use the word "red skins" when talking about natives/indigenous persons/Indians/aboriginals/have your pick, but nothing here is said or meant in a racist way. They don't use negative generalizations that I shan't type here. As for people thinking Tinkerbell is sexualized, honestly, that's more in their head than anyone else's.It's a book, made for kids. It uses dated words like "bo'sun" (which I have since learned is a name for a sailor) and "gay" (to mean happy) along with many other words we wouldn't use or would use differently today. But there's absolutely nothing wrong with it unless you're looking to be offended... Which apparently a lot of people are.

Hmmm. I bought this because despite having seen many versions of Peter Pan on TV and film, I'd never actually read the book. I don't know what children were like in JM Barrie's day but a few chapters in I think this is an adult book or at least teenagers. It's violent, highly thought provoking and mysterious. Some very nasty people in this story.

This is a gorgeous edition of Peter Pan with beautiful silver gilding on the cover and many full page illustrations within the book. I absolutely love the Barnes & Noble Leatherbound Collection! Would recommend this book to every fairy tale or Disney fan out there.

I was dreaming about to have this book again - since I was little. I used to have it but then I cant remember what happened to it... But i remember how I used to look and look and look at the pictures - they are so beautiful! So now I found it finally on amazon for a bargain!!! And I couldt wait to see those pictures again.. Thank you for these nostalgic tears...!

My daughter badgered me into buying her a copy of peter pan hence my purchase. I didn't realise I was buying a bed book ... the pages are printed on the vertical rather than horizontal so that its easier to read in bed, apparently.I can't comment on the book itself having never read it but I did have a quick flick through and the print is a nice size!
