BRINKS - 6 ft x 1/4" Flexible Steel Loop Cable - Heavy Duty Vinyl Wrap for Corrosion Protection, Gray

I've bought a few of these over the years to use as bike locks (you need your own lock--this is just the cable). I wanted something self-coiling so it's easy to store, and this fit the bill! (If you want something that does *not* self-coil, this is not the cable for you.) The metal is coated with a vinyl material so it's not as abrasive on your bike frame as bare metal might be, and it probably also helps protect the metal from the elements. My bike is normally outside during the day, and my first one of these has held up for almost two years without problem so far in all sorts of weather.

to make a long story short, somebody cut the lock on the gate leading up to our property. the only thing i had with when i found out was this new cable. honestly i'd purchased it to use on the mountain bike but it never once got used for that purpose. the gate has two very large round steel posts about 8" in diameter. as said i had nothing on hand to replace the cut lock. so using what i did have i pulled out the bike cable and using a spare paddle lock i had on hand was able to securely wrap it around and through keeping trespassers out. it worked out great! honestly i'd never thought of using anything other than a standard lock to secure the gate before but necessity is the mother of invention so to speak. i couldn't be happier with the end result. if someone wants to get past our gate now they'll have to have a decent set of bolt cutters with after putting this cable up in place. a cable is just so much more flexible and more maneuverable than a solid bar lock. the jerk cutting our lock was a bad thing but it all turned out fine as i now have a much better way to keep our gate shut and secure. a nice well built cable that'll give you some confidence wherever you make use of it.

I use this cable to lock up my e-bike in addition to my bar chain lock. The bar chain lock goes around the frame and back wheel and the cable goes around the front wheel. I have an "all-wheel drive" e-bike and the front wheel is worth taking all by itself. The bar chain lock is only 4 feet around and does not protect the front wheel so, I bought this cable to help out. It is lite weight and coils better than a chain. It also does not "jingle" like a chain. The end loops slip on my bar chain lock better than a chain. For peace of mind - it is a recommend.

Nicely made with thick plastic coat but retains its coiled shape, which may be what you want?

It is as described and probably ideal for bikes or other portable uses, but if I had known it's the springy (memory metal?) stuff I might have chosen another product. If you need something that is easy to pack without having to tie it into a compact coil, you'll probably like this. If you need something that lies straight between use, you might find the springiness a bit annoying.

We have our Traeger grill out front due to our dogs being in the backyard and bothering the grill when we had it back there we love the great neighborhood, but there’s always still the fear of having such an expensive item Hang out in our front yard. The quality of this chain has been great. We’ve been able to get the links from the grill to around a bush. Very happy with this item

Solid heavy gage yet it keeps its compact circular shape while not in use in my bicycle saddlebags. It's exactly what I needed for security at a public place.

The twist on this was so tight when stretched out it flipped me in the face and knocked my glasses off. It is wound so tight that you may not get the length you need. Otherwise it is very high quality
