Helps for radiation poisoning.
Only bought for the possibility of radiation sickness(unlikely). Drink in very small quantities. For radiation, works best with 1-3 days of exposure.

This is one of the components for making your own LMNT electrolyte drink mix. Watch the YouTube videos on making your own powdered mix. They give the exact recipe that was made public by the company. I was suprised that the potassium was not too salty or bitter. Save the money make your own

Taste and Dosage
I rarely write reviews, however after reading several reviews regarding the dosage amount and taste of this product, I’m hoping my comments will help someone. For instance, when making an electrolyte drink, I used the standard 16.9 fl oz of bottled water and mixed 1/8 teaspoon (equivalent to about a pinch of salt) of the potassium chloride. These two ingredients alone, in my opinion doesn’t change the taste of the water, at all. It tastes like regular bottled water, as if nothing were added. For a sweet tasting healthy beverage, you can also mix other ingredients, in addition to the potassium chloride, and add stevia for a zero sugar electrolyte drink. Also, you only need to add 1/8 teaspoon in each 3 bottled waters that you’ll drink throughout the day, which gives you 24% of the % Daily Value. As another commenter mentioned, you can also add the 1/8 teaspoon to food, 3 times per day.I gave the product four stars because it didn’t include the 1/8 teaspoon.

It works.
I bought Now Potassium Citrate before this type. It worked well, but gave me a too lose stool. I switched to Potassium Chloride instead. Not sure if it is better but I think it stopped softening my poop. I just began supplementing Potassium after I was diagnosed with Afib. My doctor and cardiologist did not bother mentioning low electrolyte levels, I had to figure it out for myself. After taking magnesium and potassium, which I knew I was deficient of, my heart palpitations and unsettled rhythms stopped. My exercise performance increased dramatically and I fell a lot better. This potassium WORKS. Just be careful and follow the label recommendations, or doctor's. Of course I had to ignore my doctors because they all wanted to kill me with expensive drugs and procedures.

Potassium chloride is 3 times as salty as sodium chloride (table salt).
Heart Associations recommend that the maximum amount of Sodium added to the diet every day (as Sodium Chloride or ordinary table salt) is 2 grams, and Potassium as in this Potassium Chloride is 3 grams for maintenance of normal blood pressure. Too much Sodium causes fluid retention in the blood and leads to high blood pressure. Since bananas contain about 0.4 grams of Potassium each, you would have to eat 7 bananas a day to get this much potassium. A way to do this is to add 1/3 the amount in place of ordinary salt of potassium chloride to savory foods. Do not take this neat (by itself) as it causes erosions (tiny ulcers) with mouth throat and stomach pain. Had been taking this for years for high blood pressure and leg cramps: previously was pharmaceutical grade (USP) but now comes with a California Prop 65 warning about Lead content. Although packed in the US, this is probably made in the NOW factory in India where the QC may be worse than in China. Any information by an independent testing lab with no link to this manufacturer (NOW) as to the Lead content of this product? No response in contacting NOW customer care in Illinois. Would be good if manufacturing went back to USP grade.

Best salt substitute available, hands down.
I’ve been on a low sodium diet for years now and I’ve tried so many salt substitutes I’ve lost track. Some where bitter, some left weird aftertastes, others didn’t make anything taste saltier. This is truly the closest thing to salt I’ve ever had. I’ve ordered this lots of times and the quality is consistent. The grain size is like salt, making it easy to use in a shaker. I highly recommend this.
