Worked and cheap fix

Fit my big green egg perfectly. Simple and easy to do.

Update:After a few weeks it has become obvious that this needs some sort of protective finish. It is unfinished oak, and even though I applied an oil finish, it has weathered quickly. I mentioned this in my original review, below, but didn't think it would be a problem. I was wrong. I subtracted 2 stars from the original rating.Original review: I have a pre-2008 Large Green Egg that has the old style band and uses a 4" wide handle. The GE folks told me I had to replace the entire band ($180) but this one works fine. It's a little thicker than the original, but is easier to grasp. It is basically two pieces of raw oak, and needed a little sanding to clean it up. It's something that I could have easily made myself, but for the price it was not worth the effort. Doesn't have a finish of any kind, so I used mineral oil to help preserve it. Just slop it on, wait and wipe off. Should last a long time, and half the price of the GE part.

Spacing for screws for the handle did not match up for my green egg iron frame. Spacing was 2” for this handle and my egg is 2 and 1/4. Not sure which is abnormal. I think I can make what I ordered.

Does not fit a BGE.
