Fun For Kids and Parents
Great gift for the little detective in your life! My 8 year old loved reading them to me and having us try to guess the solution together. It creates a really fun night time routine that boosts your child's reading practice.

Excellent!
A fun and fantastical series of stories that is as enjoyable for the adult (done as a read aloud) as for the kid (prob 8-12yo range) in stimulating creative thinking. The out-of-the-box ideas each story generates is fabulous!! A series of short stories that also might help a reluctant reader (like mine). Hailey is an engaging protagonist and the hints are very helpful. Will buy more books (getting book 2 now) by this author. Highly recommend.

Great Brain Stretching Stories
Terrific brain teasers for middle grade (or above) readers. These fifteen stories provide the clues needed for Hailey Haddie to solve the mysteries and also offer readers the chance to do the same. Similar to Sobol's Encyclopedia Brown and Two-Minute Mysteries series. Readers have the chance to read the story then go back and find the clues offered. Answers are given at the back of the book. Great short story to share with classes to encourage listening and processing skills.

Not complete stories
These are basically one scene from a story. Each is kind of like interviewing a criminal and then trying to decide what really happened. Each is about 4 short pages. And as an adult usually I can’t even figure out.

Deductive thinking
The stories are short and help kids learn to pay attention to the text and look for ilogical and contradictory statements. It gives the answers to ease frustration.

Very short fun
I wanted very short riddle like mysteries for my son to solve. These were the best I found to fit that need. I read two of them and they were exactly what I was looking for. There is usually some inconsistency in people's statements or an obvious clue as to the answer.... but it might take a while for the kids the put it together.
