I'm Glad I found this Author
Soooooooo Charlie's book was a little expected and a little unexpected. As a child and teen she went through some pretty horrific trauma. That explains a lot about her personality. I honestly thought at her mother's funeral she was going to spill it all. I would be lying if I didn't say I was disappointed that she didn't. What put me on edge was her mindset for revenge. She would be going up against some drug dealers and powerful people in the entertainment world. That's a big undertaking. She hired Ethan Stone PI to track down a list of names so she could exact her revenge. The read didn't come out and say what she did to the ones she found but you know she did something.I didn't understand Ethan's problem about relationships until he actually fessed up. I guess unless you've been in that situation it's hard to know how any of us would act.You felt the chemistry between Ethan and Charlie from the get go, but they each needed to get out of their own heads and thank god they finally did. There were a few surprises which made the book interesting. I truly did love Ethan and Charlie together and I'm so glad Charlie is on the mend and has chosen to forgive her Dad. Okay on to the next read in the Stone Brothers.

Really good, but
Disappointing, to me, at least. I guess the hype was a little off base and I fell for it. But, it only took me a few hours to read on KU so no great loss. It was well written, most of the main characters were well thought out and real and the plot line was very easy to follow. No major surprises or twists to speak of and the entire story fell neatly into the final chapters. As it should. Doubtful I’ll read any more of Ms. Christy’s books. A little too tame and predictable for me.

so good
Stumbled on this in KU and glad I did. Some major trigger warnings for sexual abuse and physical abuse, I don’t hold past trauma and those parts were hard to read. Overall I’d read it again. Good story

Some rules are made to be broken
Stone Rules is the first book in the Stone Brothers trilogy, but continues the story line where Mitchell Sisters left off. It is written in the first person narrative divided into two sections. First from the point of view of the heroine, Charlie Tate. The second section is from the point of view of our hero, the eldest of the Stone Brothers, Ethan Stone.Charlie Tate is Piper Mitchell’s best friend with whom she traveled the world. Escaping the traumas of her youth at the age of eighteen, Charlie swore she would not return to New York… then her mother died. The book opens with Charlie attending her mother’s funeral. While most of the attendants are somber, or at least putting on a good act, Charlie is hiding her glee. For years Charlie suffered physical abuse from her mother, as well as sexual abuse from the men with whom her mother did business. In order to get the drugs she craved or the acting connections she sought, Charlie was used as currency by the mother she grew to hate. While cleaning out her mother’s possessions, Charlie discovers her mother’s journal which documented each time one of these men was brought into Charlie’s life. As the memories of the abuse surface, Charlie knows what would make her feel better… she must find these men.Ethan Stone is a Private Investigator that does everything to avoid relationships. With his own tragic history, Ethan has a set of rules to keep his heart safe and his life structured. Charlie is all about breaking the rules. This is another emotional journey of trust and forgiveness, with comedic moments to keep the pages turning. Ethan teaches Charlie that forgiveness does not mean forgetting the past, but moving on from it. Charlie teaches Ethan that it is okay to trust again… and some rules were made to be broken.

3.5 Stars
Having a hard time choosing what to rate this book😅 i enjoyed it overall and I'm glad for the om drama because I don't think I've ever read a book like this. The hero wasn't book boyfriend material to me and he made a lot of mistakes but he did make up for a lot of them when he wanted to marry Charlie right away and knew he would love the baby like his own even if it wasn't his, was actually really sweet and the pregnancy moments were cute. It is a good amount of drama though, and I while it was a good enough book to distract me and keep me up all night while I'm procrastinating for two finals due tomorrow 😅 it also low-key made me stressed while in trying to procrastinate, so it might not have been the best book to read right now🙃 currently, I'm not sure if I will continue in this world or not, especially because many of them are second chances which isn't my jam😅Safety:Heroine has been sexually assaulted many times and it's a pretty big part of the storyHeroine has previously slept with a lot of guys, and flirts a lot tooHero has a receptionist that he had a "thing" with months before meeting the heroine, and she causes drama (and hero should have fired her long ago🙃)Hero had a daughter that died years before, and no current relationship or appearance from the exHero pushes heroine away multiple times and heroine drunkenly has sex with a guy. She gets pregnant and a big chunk of the book the baby is 50/50 chance his or the heros which causes drama.Hero doesn't sleep with anyone else since meeting heroine.

Great story
I really enjoyed this book. OMG the characters were wonderful. They are protective of each other. They were great for each other and family is more important than any thing. I only hate that there was no epilogue. This is a great series that I'm going to be looking for. Great read and well written.

But Does She Accept His Rules
The two main characters portrayed in this book are memorable and will demand your absolute attention. Charlie Tate is the only daughter of a famous self obsessed and abusive actress. Then, on the death of her mother, she is determined to find the twelve men she was forced to have sexual acts with when she was a child. And unfortunately those acts have shaped her subsequent life.Ethan Stone is the private investigator (PI) who she hires to find them. Charlie is shocked to discover that her mother's has left behind a diary with evidence of each man. But what has happened to each man? And what does she do with the information that the PI finds? There is chemistry between Charlie and Ethan from their first meeting and instant intimacy. But Ethan it not interested in having permanent relationships. His hook-up are temporary and casual. But why? What experiences have influenced his present behaviour?Well, this is the first book I have read by Samantha Christy and if you want to find out the intriguing aspects it contains, I suggest you get the book. I am certain that I will read more of her stories.

Great read
I loved Ethan and Charlie’s story,I love how the author uses real people and problems and blends them into a perfect book. I swooned, laughed and cried with this book.Charlie was abused by the one person who’s meant to love and protect her, and the things this person made her do would change Charlie forever- she’d never trust againEthan - omg, his story is a heart breaker, but I won’t add spoilersI love how even when you think they’ve got their happy ending sam throws another spanner in the works by the name of zac - again no spoilers, but I really enjoyed this book.

What a fantastic emotional read
I've got to say , it is such a thrill to get a good back ground story along with the typical girl meets boy routine, the sex scene were awesomely insane which helped .Charlie's child hood broke my heart, it actually has got me thinking about real life victims of childhood abuse it breaks me to think there are still so many vile humans on this earth .Ethans background had me sobbing , Cat his little girl .I lost count on how many times i had to gather myself together before carrying on reading .On a whole this book surprised me , i normal refuse to read books on abuse of a child or the death of a child as this is a very hard limit for me breaks me down . But Samantha christy handled the subjects so well 👏 adding that marvellous ending just perfect can't wait to read book two

Fantastic story... Real page turner
I’ve put off reading the Stone Brothers series for a while... don’t ask me why, because I honestly don’t know. I’m a huge fan of these ‘Mummy-Porn’ erotic romance novels... I’ve read over 70 since this June!! I think I’m addicted.. so I finally decided to delve into Samantha Christy’s Stone World!!So the reason love these types of erotic romance is because it’s not just about bodice ripping sex and sickened sweet, wishy-washy, lovey-dovey mush. Like some of my favourite writers (Jodi Ellen Malpas, Sylvia Day, Ivy Smoak, J. S. Scott, Helen Hardt and Sylvain Reynard) Christy doesn’t just write about sex and romance... it’s the under lying gritty stories that interlace with the tales of falling in love. And Stone Rules certainly deals with some hard hitting and difficult subjects. Paedophilia, child abuse, domestic violence, drug abuse, infant death, revenge, retribution, fraud and manipulation... need I go on. It’s all in there, but it’s dealt with in such a way that whilst it’s a tear jerker, it’s not harrowing. The characters are fabulous. I have to admit, at first I didn’t think I was going to like the female lead, Charlie. In the first few chapters she is battling not only her demons, but herself. Her past has made her hard faced, provocative and feisty. Still hurting from the torture her mother inflicted on her as a child, the fire that burns inside her is all consuming. Her large inheritance is not going to tamp down the rage.Intent on hunting down those that wronged her... she compiles a list and seeks out the services of a Private Investigator, but what she isn’t expecting is the incredibly handsome Ethan Stone... owner of the Private Investigation Company she’s hiring. Charlie has grown up thinking that sex is a way to get what you want, so propositioning the gorgeous Mr Stone is a sure fire way to getting his help.. isn’t it?Ethan Stone is a man of morals and good intentions. He has a list of rules that he lives by... although I’m sure he makes some of them up as he goes along. There’s a hurt inside that has forced him to be alone and no one has penetrated his defences. He’s never wavered from his rules before but when Charlie Tate walks into his office seeking his assistance he is floored. She’s sexy, confident and provocative and obviously willing to do ‘anything’ for his expertise. A quick sexual encounter on his office desk has him completely perplexed but mesmerised by this fiery red head that has just made him break one of his rules... ‘no relationships with clients’. But there’s something about her that he can’t shake. There’s a definite chemistry between Stone and Tate and their ‘chance’ meetings become more regular and routine. Charlie definitely starts to mellow when she allows Ethan to be the kind of man she’s always needed. He’s sweet, caring, thoughtful and protective and Charlie certainly reacts to his affection and stops using sex as a bargaining tool. She likes him... a lot but he’s holding back. She’s frustrated as Stone is trying hard to stick to his rules and each time it looks as though he’s relenting, Ethan ends up pushing her away. Why? What is so wrong with falling in love? She’s waited long enough to find it, so what’s his problem? She’s his client, but that’s not all there is. As he starts to build the dossier he becomes suspicious of her motives. When she turns up with a bruised face and then an injured ankle, he starts to question what she is doing with the information. Why does she need to know where all these men are? What did they do to her? How can he protect her if he doesn’t know who these men are to her? What are her intentions? Good? Bad?Out of a desperate need to protect her, Stone starts surveying her. He’s pushed her away as much as he can bare, but he can’t stop the need to protect her. He’s handed her the last name and tried to walk away but he can’t. It’s not until he follows her that it all becomes clear and it breaks his heart but also mends it at the same time. The book then turns to Ethans point of view and we learn about his past and why he’s been pushing Charlie away. He’s been broken and his heart ripped to pieces. He never thought his heart would ever be repaired until Charlie burst into his life and turned it upside down. Finally realising that he can no longer subdue his feelings and love for her Ethan declares his heart and tells her that he wants nothing more than to be with her. A fresh start is what they need and now she is no longer his client, he’s not breaking his number one rule. But, the path of true love never did run smooth and there’s more than a few spanner’s thrown in for them dodge. Will they finally be free of the turmoil? Will they both get their happily ever after? It’s a fabulous story... a real page turner. Well done Christy. Onto to next one!
