This is by far the best to my ears
I have owned the Sennheiser 935, Lewitt 540, Samson Q7 dynamic mics. This is by far the best to my ears. I have paired this mic with MOGAMI GOLD cable, and Focusrite Liquid Saffire 56 audio interface and it sounds AMAZING.

Great Buy
Very helpful Reference mic and with a fethead ends up being way louder than needed. Pics up well and cancels other sounds out, however not as much as I expected. The handling noise is louder than I expected, but I have little to compare it to so that might be relative. You may still want to use a pop filter for plosives, the flat areas though makes it easy where to direct the sound.

What I like about this mic
I bought this because I'm a nerd. I didn't want to just make it easy/lazy, and go with the what's popular, the Shure SM58.What I like about this mic? Well, it's brighter and more accurate than my ATR 2100 IMO, which is exactly the reason I bought it.You pretty much don't really need an extra windscreen or pop filter with this mic. It's actually a challenge to make it pop.What I don't like about this mic. It has a permanent 100 hz high pass filter enabled, that I didn't realize when I ordered it. When I attempted to cancel the order, it was too late, even though the product hadn't even shipped. Which for those of you reading, if you don't already know this, don't ever bother paying for expedited shipping. Amazon generally takes 2, 3, 4 days just to put something in the mail.The other thing I don't like about this mic is it is definitely more sibilant than my ATR 2100, Heil Sound PR 35, Shure WH20, or my Countryman B6 ... but that's OK. Audacity gives you access to free EQ *& de-esser, so.. not that much of an issue really.All-in-all.. this thing does what I expected it to do, sight unseen, having never heard it. But in hindsight, having heard this mic now, I kind of wish I had bought the D5 instead - partially because I'm just curious how it sounds. I suspect it has a bit more in the low end vs the D7. Oh, and it's cheaper, too.

This is a HOT MIC! You shouldn’t mix this bad boy with sm57/58 because they will get lost in the mix! If you need to be heard this is it. I plugged straight into a Bose roadie system.

Solo per voci studiate...
Questo microfono é davvero eccezionale. Premetto che ho studiato canto per più di 10 anni. Il mio timbro vocale é quello del tenore di grazia. Sono anche specializzato come ingegnere del suono. Cercavo un microfono dinamico quanto più fedele possibile e con una risposta piatta che non alterasse il suono in ingresso. Molto simile a condensatori studio a risposta non modellata. Questo microfono é esattamente quello che cercavo. Non introduce alterazioni di alcun tipo. Sembra quasi asettico per quanto é fedele. Se uno ha studiato canto e sa usare la voce veramente bene questo é il suo microfono dinamico di riferimento. Se la voce non é un gran che di sfumature e timbrica e per giunta non studiata sicuramente meglio andare su microfoni a risposta fortemente modellata come gli shure beta 58 e SM 58 che aiutano all’infinito e fanno sembrare bravo anche chi non lo é così tanto.Resistenza al feedback incredibile, ma attenzione che la reiezione fuori asse é fortissima, molto più di un Beta58.In definitiva per dare un’idea di come suona, sembra un Neumann KMS105 ma ancora un pelino più flat sulle alte, che ci sono ma sono morbidissime e setose. E di questo te ne accorgi nelle parti cantate acute e di potenza dove non si introducono fastidiose risonanze e alterazioni che fanno fico, ma non sono la realtà. Se la voce c’è, compratelo!!!AGGIORNAMENTO: dopo un po’ di utilizzo live e in registrazioni posso dare qualche indicazione per rendere la sua risposta ancora più naturale. Togliere circa 3 dB intorno a 2kHz e togliere circa 3 dB intorno ai 250 Hz con Q abbastanza stretti perché si tratta di semplici hotspot più che di un vero e proprio comportamento esteso della curva di risposta in frequenza. Sconsiglio fortemente di toccare gli alti e i bassi lasciandoli esattamente inalterati. Per voci femminili forse utile dare 1,5 dB in più sulle basse 80Hz per recuperare l’effetto causato dal filtro passa alto integrato nel microfono. Con questi accorgimenti si può guadagnare un po’ di preamp senza innescare feedback. Il risultato sarà eccezionale!

Use por mucho tiempo el shure Beta , este Akg D7 Superó por completo al Shure Beta 58A, voz clara y nítida, la mejor inversión en esta calidad, se los recomiendo.
