Can I add this to my 5 gallon tank between water changes? I used filtered water and plan on changing the water every 10-14days.

We found the best results by preparing the water in advance. In other words, filling a container with either tap or filtered water, letting it sit for 12-24 hours (which lets the chlorine dissipate, and also brings the water to room temperature), and then adding the BettaSafe water treatment. We change the water only about once a month, but add during the month as needed. 10-14 days may be more frequent than needed.Hope this helps!

Why does the new bottle need 14 drops per gallon instead of 7? Did the formula/ingredients change or just the directions?

Yes, Tetra diluted their product in half with water to save money, and cheat the customer, simply expressed. All the promotional images on Amazon reads 'treats 100 gal' vs 'treats 50 gal' what the customer actually receives! While I'm a chemist, it only takes an elementary evaluation to recognize Tetra just made 2X the profit, and you the customer paid for it. Plus, new 14 drops/gal is more time consuming to add when treating larger volumes, clearly a small negative. Solution: Tetra/Amazon should change the illustrations to reflect actual gallons treated.

Can betta fish live with guppies?

Depends on how fast the guppies swim. I think the fancy male would be fish food in no time. I kept a very mellow betta in a very aggressive community tank and it worked. But some of the other fish were sharks.

How much do you add to a 1.5 gallon tank?

If all of the water is new, use 15 drops or 1/8th of a teaspoon.
