Reflected in You: A Crossfire Novel, Book 2
F**A
What Happened????
Wow, where to start. Let me first say that I was waiting for this sequel like a kid at Christmas. I even pre-ordered it so I would get it as soon as it was available and then stayed up late checking my kindle until it appeared and at the risk of being exhausted at work, I stayed up and read front to back all night long. Well, the happiness I felt at 2am was long gone by the time it was 5am and I'd finished reading this book. It was nothing like its predecessor "Bared to You" which was a wonderful read with strong, mature characters who were interesting and pushed you to the point of not wanting to put the book down.I don't know who the people were who showed up in this book. Eva a sassy, strong young woman of 24 turned into a needy, whiny, weakling who phoned in her robotic performance. As for Gideon, he was an alpha male who commanded attention with a cool, dark veneer and intelligence made even more enticing by his secret past and love for Eva. But, for this book, he too phoned in his robotic performance and became a two note of sex and violence. I was looking forward to these characters fitting the original title of the book "Deeper in You" because I thought that's exactly the direction this book would take the reader but it didn't even come close. This leads me to think Ms. Day herself knew this book wasn't going anywhere and therefore changed the title to "Reflected in You" because that's exactly what large parts of this novel were, a reflection back to the most filler parts of "Bared to You." It seems this book was written under the assumption people would read it without having read the first due to all the over-telling of places, events, and secondary characters. And yes I understand the reflection part is supposed to be Eva reflected in Gideon but I hardly find that to be true given she was an open book and he was a closed one.I want to say if you decide to take on a subject such as Child Sexual Abuse or any form of abuse it should be treated in a manner that is respectful and intelligent for those out there who have really suffered from abuse. It's not something to be taken lightly and research is required before putting information out there, yes even in a fictional book. This is the problem I had with "50 Shades of Gray" along with the general bad writing and plot, but I digress. I get that Eva and Gideon are victims who have been pre-disposed due to their abuse to use sex like an addict uses drugs - when they're happy, sad, angry, bored, lonely, etc. to feel good about themselves and their relationship. But, Gideon was made to appear like he was using Eva as his sex toy and Eva was just happy he would show up to use her. The scene in the limo was the worst ever - not romantic in the least. None of the repetitive sex scenes were what I would classify as "HOT." There was so much hair fisting in every sex scene I seriously wondered if these people would show up bald in book 3. And, while I'm on repetitive, Hello- raised/arched eyebrow is the new biting lip. Geez everyone's response to anything was always a raised or arched eyebrow - I guess this means no one in the book had botox.Getting back to plot fails - I read this book twice because I really thought I was tired and it wasn't as bad as I initially thought, but it was. There was so much potential here from "Bared to You" like Eva facing her own abuser and using her Krav Maga skills to kick his a** maybe even kill him in self-defense then Gideon would have to deal with a woman who took control of her own problem while being submissive in the bedroom - that would be something I'd like to see him work with. And, that would be a true reflection of him since I think he probably killed his abuser. There are many other plot fails, but the biggest is to bring in a non-descript character to run down the Cliff Notes of what happened to Nathan and for anyone who's watched one episode of" Law & Order" knows that was a complete fail and just plain lazy writing. If you didn't want to get into the Nathan thing why even put it in the story? It did nothing except make Eva look like a desperate women and Gideon a thug - not the refine "urbane" New Yorkers they've been painted as. Not to mention the whole "event" and most of the book was predictable from chapter 2.I'm going to be completely honest and say I feel like this book was dumb downed to match in my opinion the "50 Shades" series. And if that's true then this book was written for the money and not for the art evident in I paid $3.82 for "Bared to You" and this book is $9.99. Sad being picked up by a publisher killed this series. I would not recommend.

Stop at One
If you liked # 1, just leave it at that. She barely has anywhere interesting to go with this second one. The conflict betweenm the lovers is forced and shortlived. The first book was definitely a page turner. Not as good as 50, but entertaining. I barely made it through this second. The third was a bore fest. Cannot believe there are two more after that. Agree with the negative reviews that I do not understand the bestseller status. Definitely inspirational as a wannabewriter that this quality can be a bestseller!

That ending is worth all the angst!
Audible Review: I feel the same about this narrator as I did in the first book. Overall, she's good, I just don't like her Gideon voice. It's not easy to like a woman impersonating a man though.Story Review: It doesn't matter how dysfunctional our couple is or how much angst the author throws into the story. It's a great opportunity for us as readers to see what these main characters are willing to do for each other...or it's a WTF just happened moment. This book had some pretty good WTF moments. How do you go from I can't live without you to what this author gave us? It was pretty frustrating and I did have to stop a few times to just breathe. The more the author slowly unraveled and started piecing everything together, the more things started to make sense. And the end? Well, I was no longer asking WTF and thought Ava was one lucky woman.I didn't enjoy some of the things Gideon did in this book before I knew why he did them, but that ending was awesome. The author could have easily ended the series if she had just added an epilogue, but I'm extremely happy she didn't. I want more of this couple and I'm pretty curious to see what she has in store for them next.

Crazy Plot, Crazy Story And I Reluctantly Loved It
"Our relationship was swiftly becoming a minefield of words left unsaid and secrets not shared."FINAL DECISION: The plot is crazy and these two people are incredibly messed up and thus continue to muddle their way through a largely disfunctional relationship, but I find the entirety of the book so compelling that I can't help but turn pages and then buy the next book. I can't decide if it is like watching a train wreck or a soap opera.THE STORY: PLEASE DON'T READ THIS REVIEW IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE FIRST BOOK IF YOU MIND SPOILERS!!This book continues the story of Gideon Cross and Eva Tramell who met and began a sexual and emotional relationship in book one of the series. The two both experienced childhood sexual abuse which has not been well dealt with. Each has serious problems because of the abuse which effects their ability to engage and sustain a relationship on an emotional level. Gideon and Eva's relationship is threatened by Gideon's continued refusal to talk about his past and his keeping secrets from Eva. Eva acts out and almost sabotages the relationship as well. Past loves and their abuse continue to break them apart.OPINION: This book has a plot but I especially liked that the entirety of the story is keep revealed until the last couple of pages. Because the book is told in first person from Eva's point of view, Gideon's motivations remain concealed until the end. For me, I was surprised by what was happening in the margins of this book. In beginning this book, readers should understand that this story is about the internal change of these characters more than the plot. As a result, progress between these two is slow and often times feels glacial with many setbacks. I think that because I know that there are five books in the series, the pace of the relationship change doesn't bother me. This is definitely a long term project. This book also slips into a crazy plot that is compelling but unbelievable. On the other hand, the problems that these two abuse survivors face feels more real than books where all the past is neatly resolved in 400 pages.WORTH MENTIONING: Less sex in this book than in the first (which seemed to have a sexual scene on every other page) but that is a good thing.CONNECTED BOOKS: REFLECTED IN YOU is the second book in the Crossfire series. It should not be read out of order. This series needs to be read in order as it tells one complete story.STAR RATING: I give this book 4.5 stars.

Well Gideon's behaviour gave Eva cause to doubt him until right up to the end of the book when we see what he has been up to and how he only trying to protect Eva. However, he did not explain to her what was going on and this made it difficult for her to trust him. Their relationship does seem to be on again off and again and they fix everything with sex. However, we are drawn to them and we want to see how they are going to work out their relationship issues. Gideon needs to tell Eva what happened to him as a child as this is impacting on their relationship. On to book 3.

Amazing and Exhausting read!
PlotGideon Cross. As beautiful and flawless on the outside as he was damaged and tormented on the inside. He was a bright, scorching flame that singed me with the darkest of pleasures. I couldn't stay away. i didn't want to. He was my addiction...My every desire...MineMy past was as violent as his, and I was just as broken. We'd never work. It was too hard, too painful... except when it was perfect. Those moments when the driving hunger and desperate love were the most exquisite insanity. We were bound by our need. And our passion would take us beyond our limits to the sweetest, sharpest edge of obsession...My OpinionEeeekkkkk! Squeeeeeel! Ooooooo! Absolutely Beautiful Perfect Read!!David Gandy My Perfect Mr Dark and Dangerous!!"I WAS seriously hurt because of you. Seeing you in another guy's arms, kissing him... It shredded me, Eva. Cut me open and left me bleeding. I kicked he ass in self-defense."I was so involved in this book, i devoured it!If you loved Bared To You then you will extremely want to have this book in your possession. We are brought back into the complicated lives of Eva and Gideon and their whirl wind of a relationship and in depth of how the story was left at the end of the first book. You will be dragged into an emotional and exhausting journey between two broken people but have undying love for each other.Eva is a girl who wears her heart on her sleeve and spills every tiny secret to prove to Gideon that she is his and only his... Where as Gideon is the total opposite and is bottling up every secret and refuses to say anything only for Eva to trust him." He was my drug, and I had no desire to kick the habit."They both seem to hurt each other in their own sort of way but always come running back in to each other's arms. It is a sick and possessive relationship they have and you just wish sometimes in the book that they would either walk away and separate completely or you want to bang both their heads together and make them see that their is just too true." I'd rather argue with you, angel, than laugh with anyone else."I could go into details about the book and why i loved it so much...However i just recommend you buy the book and read for yourself. I was so engrossed with the love between Gideon and Eva. A fantastic erotic journey to hell and back which will be wishing you had your very own Gideon Cross.I am so gutted i have finished the book now..however i will be pining for 31st December to hurry up so i can follow on with Entwined with you and carry on with the journey...

Sah-woon!
I had been anticipating this book for so long that when it actually pinged onto my kindle I dipped in straight away and absolutely devoured it! The story continues without any time lapse from the end of the last book Bared to You.Gideon Cross and Eva Trammel are both still clinging onto each other to try and eradicate their pasts, to make their world "normal". This book, like the first one, is full of every emotion and you certainly feel the whole spectrum as you are reading through. The angst, the joys, the jealousy, the drama, the tension, the love and yes the SEX! But underneath all this is the underlying story that both are sex abuse survivors. We heard in the last book what happened to Eva but we never really understood what happened to Gideon. Was it connected to the family home that he hates to visit? What is the animosity that lies between him and his brother? Throughout this book we continue to ask those questions and are they linked to his nightmares of the past? You never really fully understand what is happening and why Gideon appears to purposely rile Eva with his apparent indiscretions with Corrine (bitch from hell!) and his disappearances. I'm sat there looking at my kindle shouting "WTF are you doing man?" "Are you effing crazy?" And why after seeing this Eva begs for more with him, she takes him back, she runs to him. And all the time you are thinking "Has she no pride?" "How can she?" But Gideon is so irresistible, so lovable, so freaking HOT! But oh boy, just hang on in there, keep going, keep reading, it gets good, it gets so, so good, it gets unbelievable! It is all seen from Eva's POV which makes it all the more frustrating as you cannot get into Gideon's head to see what the hell he is thinking. Well we do get little snippets which he lets out to Eva such as "Wait" "I'll catch you, angel. I'll always catch you" - WTF does that mean. But it makes sense as you hit 80%. Oh *squeals" it makes sense!Even the secondary characters are brilliant. The whole Cary and Trey thing was a welcome addition. Why the hell was Trey still doing the women and gangbangs when it is quite obvious he wanted to be with Trey? Those two men NEED to be together. Oh and as for Eva's father? Sah-woon! Victor Reyes is hot! Why did her mother ditch him, was she crazy? Money over love? Tsk tsk.Gideon is an unforgettable character. His look could make you drop everything in one fell swoop. "It was a look that screamed SEX. Hard, deep, endless, mind-blowing sex."So as at the end Gideon asks "Where do we go from here?" I guess we'll find out in Entwined With You. I, for one, cannot wait!

Its was good...But....
Having totally loved "Bared to You" I was very very eager to read this next instalment, but having just finished reading it, which took me just over 6 hours, I'm feel a little confused or disappointed, not sure which. As the story eventually unfolds its page turning stuff. The ending was a bit of a shock but completely believable! It answers the questions left from the first book and leaves us with new ones that presumably will be told in the last instalment. The sex scenes (which there are loads of!) are hot and a tad repetitive. In some parts it felt like it was just being written for the sake of filling the pages - or perhaps to please the fans of FSoG which is a shame because "Bared to You" was so much more. Why did they change the format? In other parts it felt like more detail or explanations were needed. This fault comes with writing the story from just one person point of view. The use of epilogues would have worked a treat to give us another character's POV like for instance Angus's. I bet he could enlighten us to quite a lot of what goes on in Gideon's life away from Eva.I am looking forward the the final book just to find out the conclusion which I hope is a happy ever after. If you want more of this kind of book/storyline try The Siren (Spice) (The Original Sinners: Book 1) or any of Tiffany Reisz's short stories. They will blow your mind!!! The Siren (Spice) (The Original Sinners: Book 1)

boring beginning but the climax was brilliant
Reflected in you.OK so i waited months to read this book after reading and loving "bared to you" I couldnt wait to get started when it came through the post.I sat down giddidly and opened the book on Thursday night. I read chapter 1, BORING. Then chapter 2,3,4,5,6,7,8 arrggghhhhh and couldnt believe how boring it was " i thought" what am i reading? its nothing like the 1st one and i was half tempted to put it down and never read it again.I actually put it away that night at chapter 8 and honestly forgot all about it over the weeknend. Then remembered about it monday morning after a conversation with a friend asking me what i thought about it.She told me to get it out and finish the book and told me it gets better and i wont be disappointed!!So i did just that. And wow it certainly gets better and better with the twists and turns what gets you really thinking, i had to keep skipping back to the beginning to see what ive missed and try to work it all out myself. lolAnyway the climax off the book leaves you thinking what a great book that was(i know what i said earlier leaves you all confused) and i was confused because i really hated Gideon Cross all the way through this book and wanted Eva to dump him but then he totally redeamed himself at the end and i fell back in love with him. Annoying. So yeh i come away once id finished the book absolutly lovin it and now i especially cant wait to read the next installment ENTWINED WITH YOU.(Not out until may next year! GAH!)I honestly think though this book is no where near as erotic as the 1st one, granted there is sex in it but its much more darker story line with a love story in the heart of the story.HARD TO EXPLAIN? just go on, read the book to the end and dont be put off with the boring beginning and you will just love it!!I would recommend this book.
