Real Quality, Real tool.
I needed one of these after I received training for work. I needed something that I could rely on if my life depended on it. As an officer, that could happen. This is the real tool I needed.

The Real Deal
I received a new production Gen-5 SOF-T wide. Shipping was quick (not fulfilled by amazon, but free for prime members)The product page was for a Gen-4 (it doesn't have the plastic windless clamp, and only 1 triangle windless clamp).I was specifically looking for a Gen-4 (they fold up a little flatter). It's not a big deal, you can never have too many TQ's.

good match up
I matched this TQ up with the NC Star CVTQ2990R Ncstar; good match up. As for the TQ, it's extremely easy to use and manipulate, especially with the break-away feature. That feature, alone, makes is an excellent TQ; no more trying to thread the patient's extremity "through-the-hole". Just unsnap the buckle, wrap the TQ around, reconnect and thighten...VIOLA!...another satisfied customer. My only concern is when the EMT's take the patient away I'll never see my TQ again...LOL. I'm pretty sure they'll take a pair of shears and cut my $30 TQ to pieces!!!! Oh well, goes with the territory.

Fantastic life saving device
I’ve always had CAT tourniquets only because that’s all I ever knew about. While I still like the CATs, I’m glad my work buddy turned me on to these because they are fantastic. They are just as easy to use as a CAT and fold up just as nicely. I went with the orange so it’s eash to find and even easier to recognize as a tourniquet. I absolutely recommend this to anyone on the military, public safety field etc.

Very well made tourniquet.
I'm used to the CATs that are common among military. Decided to buy a SOFTT after I saw how slim they could be packed down for daily carry on the body. The build quality seems excellent. It is nice that the windlass is metal, making it near indestructible in any situation you're applying it.Maybe I haven't practiced enough but I will say the CAT is slightly easier to self apply one handed. I find I kind of have to fiddle with the SOFTT when taking up the slack when first putting it on. Whereas with the CAT you can slip it on and yank it tight quickly in one motion.Overall though it seems like an excellent tourniquet that doesn't take up much room. I carry it daily with a phlster flatpack on my belt.

Same as LAPD issues.
This is the exact same brand and model LAPD issues to their officers. I shot myself in the femoral artery to test it and it works perfectly! Kidding. Hopefully NO ONE will ever have to use one of these ever. But if you do, this is the one.

Durable
Fantastic in durability and practicality. Easy to use and for those without prior knowledge, it comes with a nifty diagram for easy application.

EDC that works.
While I prefer the Gen 7 CAT for most situations, the SOFT-T Wide folds very thin and is comfortable to carry. It is also clinically demonstrated to block hemorrhaging, unlike the RATS and some other sketchy products.
