Do you have to reprogram radio and car settings every time you use it?

I have it installed on these vehicles. 2012 ford fusion 2013 chevy 2500hd 2000 duramax with an aftermarket radio. None of these require that. Prior 2000 model years I'm sure you do.

Does the 2nd generation consume less battery power when vehicle not in use because Contact Type: Normally Open not Closed?

Idk about less battery power use or more but I do know it consumes battery, which I bought it to save my battery! I need suggestions myself on a better way

The 2 remotes are both programed. It's not hard to install. You may need to buy a battery cable if you want to bolt the cut off switch to fender weld.
