The Real Deal
Great book, probably the best I've seen on the subject....and I've seen em all. Truly captures what it was really like being a Skinhead in the 80's without revisionists trying to rewrite history.

Brilliant
A wonderful book by Derek Ridgers. I highly recommend this book if you like photography and youth cultures. "Gripping."

"Skinheads" rules, ok
Great Book! Really seems to capture the time. Full of great looking characters and some familiar faces. I love it.

Good glimpse of another era
Good snapshots from the era. The English: not exactly the best looking people on the planet. Some of the girls are kinda cute though. all in all a pretty cool book. Its got some good pics of The Last Resort live and Chris from Combat 84.

Some great photos for nostalgia of the Skinhead subculture
Some great photos for nostalgia of the Skinhead subculture. Honestly written as well from interviews of Skinheads back in the day too,but noting that it was of a time when we English didn't quite know how to express national pride as we had seemingly lost our way on that subject and the Skinhead culture was in an angry state of rebellion influenced by Punk and so a mix of mislead patriotism and angry anti-establishment rebellion meant that a Nazi element was expressed, but on deeper reading you find that the sentiments of the Skinheads were a case of if you settled and integrated, especially into our subculture, then this was actually a positive, but if you didn't then some mislead political antics and crude anti establishment hatred would endure. No one is perfect and mistakes are made especially at a tender age, give them a break as the most demonised and most hijacked subculture of the English.

Great one
A book that portrays the London scene from the end of the 70ies to the mid 80ies.Some fairly controversialy pics are in it, but it shows pretty well how rough and hard the subcultural street life was back then. Some of the protagonists are meanwhile passed away, because of drug use etc., so another good reason to pick that one up if you were in touch with some of them.

Nostalgia..
This is a great book. The photos really capture the era, even more so than Ridger's other books (which I love as well). He has a gift for capturing people looking relaxed and at ease rather than looking like they are posing for the camera.
