2-Light 4200W Fluorescent Lighting Kit

After setting up this softbox lighting kit I no longer have a need for the LED lights and ring light that I had previously purchased. For an in-home studio setup, it is hard to imagine why someone would need more to produce very good quality videos. The amount of illumination these lights produce is fantastic in my opinion. With my simple Logitec C922 HD camera connect to my computer and this kit, the quality of the recording is dramatically improved over what I had been using previously.Fortunately, for my purposes, there is no need to set them up and break them down because they are being used in a home studio environment. However, the process of setting up the softboxes was not difficult. In fact, after having watched the short video on how to do it, it was not necessary to look at the instruction booklet.Everything was delivered undamaged and the bulbs really do produce a lot of illumination, yet the result is a very natural look to the skin tones and in my setup against a regular painted white wall, there were no shadows. When looking through available options, I became curious why the Fovitec lights were more expensive, but seeing those 10 bulbs and the quality of the softboxes the value was clear.I saw some of the comments about the stands not being very sturdy, but honestly, I feel they are more than adequate. Nothing about this kit causes me pause. Frankly, they are great.

I'll be honest, I've only set them up to ensure I'd know how when I take them out to my first shoot with them. Set up was very easy, and putting everything back into the packaging was also very easy (sometimes things won't fit back once you open them, but these did without issue). I love the size of these softboxes and am glad I went with this larger size. The only thing that surprised me was the carrying back. First of all, I would have liked to have had two bags, one for each softbox. That would have made it possible, and more convenient for those occasions when you only want/need to take one with you. The other convenience of having two bags would be the ease of carrying them...the single large bag is both a bit wieldy and a bit on the heavy side--also, it's larger that it needs to be which adds to the bulkiness. The softboxes though will be really nice to use, especially the flexibility of having multiple switches for various lamp combinations. A good product and a good value. (better bag though!)

I really like the quality of this product. The 5 light heads are perfect, you can use different light combinations, 2, 1, 3, 4 or 5. Really very bright, perfect. I am really happy with the setup, just wishing I had ordered the three pieces rather than the 2 lights.

Just so you know I'm not a pro or anything like that. I'm definitely an amateur at best who needed better lighting to make my video reviews better. When you have a small business you have to wear many hats and the Videographer hat never fit well. I moved to a different place and my new office has very little light compared to my old one. The 2 x 70w CFL single light soft boxes I have don't do the job any more by a lot. I tried a bunch of different lights in the sub $200 price range and these were the best. You really get a lot of light for the money. I kept trying to light up my studio with lot's of little clamp lamps and 45w CFL's but it didn't really work. Then I tried some 4x and 5x lamps but most had either 45w or 65w CFL's. These 5x85w lamps make a huge difference over the others and now the products I review are very well lit up. With my old 70w lamps it gives me a good amount of light so I'm keeping them. Finally I feel like I have enough light. I might buy their pair 20x20 105w lights to replace my 70w lamps but right now this works. I also like the handles on the back where other lights didn't have handles it was very awkward.The first box arrived with a broken Bulb and one light not working but customer service is excellent and I had a second set there 2 days later. These lights would be 5 stars to me if they had a stronger stands. It doesn't feel that they are made for the weight of these lights. They don't feel like they will tip but the stands feel like they are made for single light soft boxes and they do bend just a little bit. Also there is no space between bulbs and they all touch at the base. Doesn't seem to be an issue though. I've set them up and won't take them apart much. They will just sit ready to film here in my place and I won't break them down until I move. Other than that I'm very happy for the price and feel these lights do a great job. They are just what I needed for what I'm doing.

I bought the kit as a gift for my friend. She told me that these two lights did a great job in her studio. First, I was satisfied with the delivery, which was much faster than I expected. I opened the box with my friend, and we were pleased to see everything so well packed. It took us a little time to set them up. We found the instruction video on Fovitec website. The stands are sturdy and balanced, the lights are soft and clean. I am not a professional but she is, and she loves the product.

The item itself works as advertised, and was delivered on time. No complaints except that the instructions included were almost useless.Would order from them again without hesitation.

flimsy stands. wouldn't wanna break this down everyday to take to & from photoshoots but good enough for home studio.
