A House Called Tomorrow: Fifty Years of Poetry from Copper Canyon Press

Although sometimes it seemed the editor had a penchant for the needlessly obscure--as if he thought we'd feel creative having to fill in SOMETHING--there's enough variety to provide everyone a few real treasures. For me, they included Olena Davis, "The Poem She Didn't Write," Barry Lopez, "Desert Reservation," Dean Young, "Gizzard Song," and June Jordan's "My Rights" and "These Poems."

Large book (490 pages) packed with awesome and unique poetry on all sorts of subjects. I am frustrated with Amazon when they pack and transport a large high quality paperback book in just a thin plastic envelope instead of a protectivecardboard box.But even with a few tiny dents on the edges, this is an awesome collection of poems. I am just fortunate enough to have learned about this book on a national public radio interview with the editor of this book, Michael Wiegers.

Good collection of poems, some familiar to me but many were first time reads. I've read through this several times, and have some favorites. I know I'll revisit this collection in the future.
