This mug is gorgeous and hilarious! I grew up on Monty Python so having this mug is like having a bit of my weird upbringing with me! Surprisingly, it survived my cat trying to knock it down and I threatened to make her an ex cat for that. I threaten my horse with that as well but she's young and is also getting a Monty Python childhood. (No animals were harmed in the making of this review)

This is the most beautifully illustrated, colorful and large Monty Python mug you will ever find containing the most extensive number of quotes. I absolutely love mine. I have had it for a year now and I cannot be separated from it. It is my constant companion for coffee, water, root beer, or any other beverage I might be inclined to imbibe. It holds a full 12 fluid ounces. That is not measured to the rim so it will easily hold a standard soda can. I wanted to get another and am dismayed to find it is out of stock and no expected date for restock can be determined. The Unemployed Philosophers Guild seems to have abandoned it. They do not even list it any longer on their site. I hope that is not true and I have signed up to have Amazon send me an email when it is back. I went looking around and not only will you find nothing even remotely comparable you will be disappointed at the selection. I was. I did find a site called Monty Python Online Shop that did list the mug as sold out. At another site, unoriginally called Monty Python Online Store (both sites have a suspiciously similar appearance), I found a mug called the Cloud Woman Mug that has a beautiful reproduction of a Terry Gilliam illustration. I’m thinking about getting it. Both sites are associated with the alleged official Python web site at MontyPython.com. I really hope this fantastically beautiful and funny mug becomes available again.

I gave this to my husband for Christmas and he loves it! A great mug!

My oldest has a bit of a funny sense of humor for a teenager--he likes Monty Python (I think he's a throwback to the 70s sometimes) and ran around with his friends last year trying to convince their drama teacher to let them re-enact a MP skit as a class project. Needless to say, this mug is perfect for him. The mug itself is made in China and appears to be well constructed--it's a heavier duty mug with some heft to it. The glaze is even and no defects in the printing/design. Though the vendors on Amazon differ (well, Amazon sells this one, the other was from a partner vendor), this is from the same people who sold the Shakespearian insult mug I also got for him. The only thing I could complain about (which is not my son's complaint) is that I would love a quote about the 'machine that goes ping' and perhaps about the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow. But there are plenty of great quotes, and only so much room on the mug! JTG (and check out the 'instructional' video for mugs on the manufacturer's website...very amusing!)
