Pro's for this kitThe spindle and VFD operate as expected out of the box as a stand alone using the VFD keyboard.An adapter plate is required to install on the FoxAlien Vasto and may be too heavy for lighter machines.I used 2 You Tube videos by TK Design for instructions to set the parameters and wire from the Laser port on the FoxAlien controller to the VFD.The spindle is powerful and rigid and performs very well with this install.Functionality, Power and performance deserve 5 stars.Con's for this kitThe power cord shipped with the kit is a 2 conductor 110 Volt wire so i needed to make up a 3 conductor cord with 220 v plug.The VFD does not have a power on/off switch which requires pulling the plug or going to the breaker panel if the VFD is on a dedicated circuit.The spindle wernches are small and made from thin, soft sheet metal with sharp edges.Having to make a power cord, add an on/off switch and buy better wrenches caused me to reduce my rating to 4 stars.

Works better than the router I was using, It is quiet and has much better accuracy than the router I was using. Everything was plug and play and the support was fantastic. Never had used a spindle before they answered my questions quickly and gave me the confidence to use it right away.

Do yourself a favor and buy the spindle separately, and get a good VFD for it.

The delivery was on time and the installation went well. We have no issues with the performance.

First off, DO NOT USE THE CABLES that come with the kit!!!!!! The power cable has a standard US 120V connector, but the inverter is designed for 230V (240 in the US). The BIG problem is that the cable does NOT have a ground (PE) wire!! The plug has the pin, but the cable does NOT have the wire! The manual states very clearly that you MUST have a ground wire to the system. Including a power cable without a ground wire is probably close to criminal. The VFD to spindle cable DOES have a ground wire but it is not shielded. These types of systems emit huge amounts of electrical noise, you should always use a shielded cable from the controller to the spindle.So be prepared to make your own cables. Do not assume you can just use what is in the kit.The actual spindle and controller are great, they work well right out of the box. Just one caveat to remember that this is an air cooled spindle, the rotation of the spindle runs a fan to cool the windings. So it is a good idea to keep it at 9000RPM or higher if you are using it for a long period of time. Yes you can run it it 6000RPM for a couple of minutes. But if running for a long period of time keep it above 9000RPM.I'm not sure how I should rate this, the hardware is great, but shipping with a power cable without a ground is in my mind criminal, this could easily electrocute someone who used this cable.

It's a decent spindle, it works as expected. The main complaint is the tools it comes with are garbage and easily bends. Also, the collets it comes with are very cheap and hard to work with. In order to remove the bits from the college, you have to completely remove the collet nut and pry the collet out with a screwdriver.

Make sure you order appropriate cables as the included wiring is very short. Instruction book, although very small, is very thorough and precise. I’m running cnc4pc c11g board with ess smooth stepper without issue from mach3. Spindle is very quite without any measurable runout.

Received the box, the spindle and inverter were packaged great. I wired the spindle and inverter as instructed. I made no programing to the inverter as it was already programed as described and the spindle started up. I used my phone with the decibel meter, and at a distant of 1' from the cutter it measured 55 decibels.It is so much quieter than the router I was using.
