Works well for iodine titrations
My daughter wanted to do some titrations for her science project and I didn't have enough time to make it from scratch. This worked perfectly and dissolved quickly. Good enough for my commercial lab if needed.

Exactly what I was looking for
This starch was exactly what I was looking for. It was relatively simple to work with in solution (you do need some patience to mix it up) and behaved as expected to indicate iodine. Since I wasn't able to find some locally, I was happy to find this available online.

Fast shipment, good product but appears to have issues.
It is soluble but seems to take some work. I put some in lukewarm water, it first clumped into globs, making it barely soluble. Then I heated distilled water to 87 Celsius to see if it would help, it did, but not fully dissolved. I then added a few grains at a time to heated water and stir it until it disappears, then add a few more grains, until I got a proper quantity for synthesis of ionic silver. Works great for it though.

Lab-Grade Soluble Starch - 100 g - good stuff!
I usually make my starch from scratch but thought I would give this a try and I don't think I will return to making my own unless I have no other choice. This is easy to use. I use heated distilled sterile water at roughly 150 F and increase the temp as needed. I also use a slow mixer to help it dissolve faster. When using any type of starch powder you need to add it a bit at a time to give it time to dissolve. I am a retired scientist teaching my grandchildren how to do experiments and we needed the starch to indicate the presence of iodine. Usually, a 1% starch solution will yield a beautiful deep blue color when iodine is present and the more concentrated our starch the deeper the blue color will be. The kids loved the blue color. I would definitely order this starch again in the future.
