Nordic Forge 1-1/2 Lb. Rounding Hammer

Funny, Amazon asked for my rating on the hammers warmth. Sitting next to my forge it does get warm. I'm by no means an expert. I am just beginning to play in the world of smithing and this was the first hammer I bought. Now that I have used it, it's a perfectly good hammer. The only fault is my own ignorance, I should have bought a bigger one. However, I'm sure I will get plenty of use out of this one.

Nice hammer, only problem is I should have bought alittle heavier one. This one will be perfect for hot shoeing.

It was obvious to me that the shaft of the hammer was made of three separate cuts of wood. One for the center, one for a printed warning label, and one for the logo. It was disappointing that a company named for my ancestors would value logo and warning label over quality solid bodied wood. One piece snapped off after a few swings. Bought a new shaft and wood wedged it. I probably could have just made it myself, but was interested in the brand.
