Good Shroom Knife
I gave it 4 of 5, and say good instead of great. All in all, good knife - does what it is intended to do and isn't a cheap POS. The only negative thing I would say is that these blades don't lock open. I didn't even think at this day and age that I had to specifically look for "locking blade" or i probably wouldn't have bought these. Watched my gf cutting a conk off a tree stump and watched her almost lose a couple fingers when she pushed on the handle and it snapped shut on her. She got lucky and only got a good cut instead! Still a good knife overall.

Perfect gift
I have 3 nephews - they all ride quads and love to spend time in the woods. They ride and camp out and, it amazes me, they are into foraging and learning plants, edibles and medicinal plants for healing. For Christmas I purchased 3 "drop leg" bags and foraging field guides along with each getting the mushroom knife (purchased two sets so I have one extra). They were absolutely thrilled with them.As a matter of fact, the oldest one uses his for school. He goes to tech and said he stopped carrying his big book bag into the tech school because he only needed a few things. So he uses the leg bag to carry his keys, wallet and smaller things he uses like pen, etc. He said the guard stopped him the first day because he thought it was a holster. I'm sure it does give one a second thought but he's been using it ever since with no incidents.

Great for around the farm!
We originally got these for mushroom hunting during morel season, but now I use it all the time. Cuts bale twine easily and great for harvesting herbs and vegetables too!

A Nice Tool for any Forager
I didn’t know quite what to make of this blade when I first got it, but after doing some quality and field testing of the knife I’m pleasantly surprised at its functionality. The blade on this unit is curved in a way that helps control the cut of the stipe when harvesting a mushroom, and it is appropriately sharp for the task. It isn’t dull enough to cause ripping and tearing of mushroom flesh, but it isn’t sharp enough to be a hazard when cutting a mushroom that “gives” easier than expected. It falls somewhere in the middle, which is exactly where a knife like this needs to live.Additionally, the handle of the blade is comfortable to grip, and the ability to clip the knife to a belt loop is fantastic for easy access (and ensuring one doesn’t lose a tool in the woods).Overall, I’m genuinely pleased with this set of knives. My brother and I will both put them to use in our future foraging adventures, and odds are they will become a go-to tool when we’re put stomping around in the woods!

Convenient
I received this knife as a gift from my daughter. It's very niceestetically and I love that it's foldable. Wish the brush was thicker.

Superb Quality
These are some of the nicest knives I've ever seen- Each comes in its own little burlap-ish fabric sack with drawstrings. The olive wood handles are smooth as silk and beautifully finished. The bristles on the end for brushing away dirt and debris from mushrooms are flexible but not floppy. The blade pulls out just like a typical jackknife. The blade has a thick, sturdy spine and a forword-curving edge that is extremely sharp. The only thing I can really feel anything like a legitimate concern about is the chain, which might be in the way when gripping the knife; I feel like it might have been better on the bristle end than on the blade end. But I think if you were to wear a retractable keychain and attach the chain to the end, it would make it easy to use without worrying about dropping it in the woods or crushing the bristles in your pocket.Overall this knife is a piece of functional art that is a sheer pleasure to hold in the hand. Thanks!
