The specs say "DC 12 ~ 24v". would I be better off looking for a power supply with higher voltage or higher amperage?

I’m not an electrical engineer, but I believe you would be served to stay with in the recommended voltage range. In theory a slightly lower than 24v power supply could provide a marginally longer life span. Due to things like, heat, resistance.. blah blah tears, body oder, and blah. Now, if my math and the description are both accurate, the amp requires 8.3 amps, however it will draw only what it needs to operate. This is the attribute that is of good practice to have slightly oversized. This is only my understanding, please correct me if I’m wrong w/ any of this.

It has 2 TPA3116D2 chips. One for the speakers and one for the subwoofer.

Does anyone know if the bass/treble knobs do not affect the subwoofer output?

The Bass volume knob is to control the ouput level of the subwoofer. The separate treble knob and separate Bass knob are for setting the relative loudness between the treble and the bass.

What's the rated impedence? 2-8ohm? 4-8ohms? Or what?

I've used the stereo hooked up to two speakers rated at 8ohms (can go down to 4ohms) but I hooked up the subwoofer to 4ohms.
