Are they really 100% cotton, or fake? I ordered before somwhere else, it was Mislabeled , not Cotton at all, Microfiber /satin..

These are 100% Cotton. It is Satin weave made from 100% Cotton.

Can they be washed in hot water?

I think they can be washed in hot water, because I've already done it and nothing wrong has happened to them.

Why does this duvet stink???!!! the smell almost knocked me over when i opened the box.

The 100% cotton duvet arrived with a very pronounced chemical smell. I washed it in cold water and hung it to dry in the San Antonio, Texas sunshine all day. The smell was still strong. Draped it over a bed in a spare bedroom overnight. In the morning one could smell the chemical odor before on entered the room. Washed again with detergent in warm water and a vinegar rinse and line dried it all day. Still the smell. Soaked the duvet overnight in water and baking soda, washed it in hot water line dried it all day. It is currently hanging on the line if it doesn't stop smelling by the end of today I will return it and not by any more linins on line.
