Can you use a cone of thread rather than a spool?

Sure just get a thread stand for cones for $5-$10 thats what i use with mine

How many inches is the throat? The space to the right of the needle?

It is 8". This is a great machine for quilting, as well as just about anything else you need to sew. I have the HZL-G210 which is very similar to this one, and I absolutely love my machine!

Would this machine be able to sew pvc and garment grade (thin) faux leather? Also, is there a teflon foot available? Thanks!

Don’t know if there is a Teflon foot available. I do know that this can so very thin material quite well without chewing it up.
