Great camera that’s easy to use
I bought this in prep for an upcoming dive trip, so will review it as such in combination with the waterproof case. Without the waterproof case the camera mounted fine on my motorcycle. The magnetic mount makes it easy to clip in. Turn it on, hit record, and go. It takes 5 minute clips that are easily stitched together in any video editor. With the waterproof case, I mounted it on my scuba mask for a first person point of view video. Worked great. Turn on, mount, press record, and dive. 40 feet with no leaks and no problems. I will be under four hours each day, so I bought batteries and charger to swap out when I surface. A word of caution here. Get DJI batteries. Third party batteries will fit, but the camera will error out, as will the charger. Use the branded batteries and save yourself the headaches. Get an extra SD card as well. At 4k, you can fit an hour’s video on a 256gb card with no trouble - maybe 2 hours. Swap while swapping battery and offload the videos while you’re on your next dive. As I will be in riskier conditions on this dive trip, the ability to shut off the front display is another benefit to me. Video and photo quality were excellent. Controls were easy, even with gloves. Very happy with this purchase.

Your money goes a long way with this camera
I spent a few days learning about this camera and comparing it to gopros 9-11 before deciding to buy it. I have it mounted on my motorcycle helmet in the vertical position while I ride. Mostly I record in the 4:3 ratio, 4k 30fps, ultra-wide fov with rocksteady on. With those settings the battery lasts roughly two and a half hours and fills up about half a 256gb SD card. Which is perfect for what I use it for. ISO settings can be subjective. I preferred setting ISO to auto range from 100-400 compared to the recommendation of 100-800. Even on cloudy days It looks great. Shutter speed set to auto since I move from sunny to shaded environments while riding. I was not particularly pleased with the picture quality on this camera however. Compared to a galaxy s21, the phone beats it every time. The mic quality isn't going to blow you away but its surprisingly clear, the exhaust and engine sounds can be clearly heard over the wind noise. If your in a wind free environment you wont need a external mic setup really. I will be ordering the DJI wirless mic setup in the future. Changing settings and presets can be done in seconds, even if its the first time your using this camera, the magnetic quick release mount is awesome, if you only have one battery the fast charge feature is an added bonus the gopro doesn't have. I was a little disappointment with the video quality after exporting and uploading to Instagram, @sum_roadster if you would like to see for yourself. Raw footage is crisp and clear. Are there better cameras out there with better video quality? Yeah probably, but not for $270. If you just want to throw this on a helmet and go this is the best bang for your buck.

Incompatible with Some Phones - Check First
I did a lot of research before purchasing the DJI Action 3 and was very impressed with the reviews. I received my camera yesterday. Turns out my new Samsung XCover Pro is not compatible with the camera, so I was unable to unlock it, to upgrade firmware, etc. It should be clearly emphasized in the advertising that not all phones are compatible. The easiest way to check is to download the camera app software first. If your phone will not allow you to install it, do NOT order the camera. For example, I was able to install software from Insta360 and GoPro, so either should have worked. I will be ordering a GoPro Hero 11, and returning the DJI Inaction 3. Disappointing, to say the least. UPDATE (5-2-2023) I read on the DJI site that Samsung S10 is compatible with the camera. I bought a used one, but it is NOT compatible, either. Last thing I tried was my iPad and it worked correctly. Good to know: the iPad WORKS! Nonetheless, the entire unlocking and updating process is a real PITA. UPDATE: (6-26-2023) I’ve been using this camera very successfully, getting great movies, perfectly exposed, in focus, and motion stabilized. I started recording in 4K, but realized the size of the files was enormous, and was quickly filling up my hard drive. So, now I’m shooting in 2.7K, and very happy with the resolution and file size. It is extremely easy to offload the files into my computer by simply connecting in the USB-C cable and selecting the transfer option that pops up on the camera. Drag and drop the files onto the computer, and the can be edited and arranged in a movie. Right now, I’m using the iMovie app, since it’s included with my Mac. It’s a simple program, but adequate for my present needs.

Not the Best, But better than GoPro
I've owned the Original Osmo Action ever since it was released and it became one of my favorite cameras to use. Like all DJI products, they aren't perfect out of the box, but with firmware updates, they only get better. I skipped on the OA2 because I didn't like the modular design, but when this one was announced, I pre-ordered it immediately. There's mixed reviews on YouTube about it and I can't speak for them, but I can speak on my own experiences using this camera. The not so good... So far, I can't switch between front and back screen while recording (this option became available on the original OA a few months after its release. The microphone doesn't pick up as well as the front mics when talking behind the camera. The last is lack of ability to mount an external mic to the camera, but there is a solution. The good... Maybe I was one of the lucky ones? But the picture quality is AMAZING! I love having the option to choose different fields of view, the zoom option is nice and much better low light performance. Being able to film 4k 120fps and 4k slow motion is great. Plus it never overheats and outlasts GoPro on both battery life and heat threshold. The build quality is excellent as well as the redesign of the battery door. The battery life is phenomenal! I can film in 4k at least twice as long as I can on my original OA. The front mics pick up sound well and I found a solution for an external mic mount. I just picked up a selfie stick / mini tripod which has a cold shoe mount on the side. All in all I am very pleased with my purchase.

Excellent Choice for an action camera
I like the overall functionality of the camera. Battery duration is good enough but i would recommend to get the kit with the two spares and the charger. The automatic orientation of the video helps a lot when you export the media recorded. I was using a Go Pro 7 Black and in comparison, the media recorded here is much greater with the wide angle view less distorted and a much better performance on low light conditions. The only things i would criticize is that, in comparison with a Go Pro, the camera takes more time to connect to the phone for remote control, the connection is less stable and also it misses the capability to turn off and on the camera remotely. Things that the Go Pro Hero 7 can do but his one no.

Film your life 30fps at a time
Easy to use and set up. Easy to connect my DJI microphone to as well. Video quality looks great. I do recommend getting some extra batteries.
