Cap and spigot are major pain -- not worth the trouble or expense
I'm very mixed on this container. Yes, it's a great strong container. But the screw cap and dispenser spigot are a major pain to deal with -- at least in my own limited experience. First, I couldn't stop the spigot from leaking around the threads --- drip drip drip --- until I tightened it all the way down til it couldn't be tightened any more -- was very difficult and required lots of strength to twist it down to the final thread. Felt like it was going to break, but the leak stopped. Similarly I felt I had to tighten the screw cap down as far as it would go, using the wrench tool they provide -- but it stripped the raised friction surface that the wrench grabs onto. Now I have to replace that stripped cap. Then after all that effort to get a non-leaking setup, the actual spigot handle is extremely stiff and hard to twist to the open position.Maybe in an industrial application this setup is ok -- I dunno. But for taking camping, this was way too much trouble and effort, and I'll be looking for another solution. Is this the common experience?
