Affordable and very useful product.
Affordable and very useful product. Rear view is very clear and wide. Front and back camera will record at same time. Night vision is not that much clear on rear camera but ok.

[Update] I was having grainy video issue and I was wiping my lens with microfiber cloth which does not resolve the issue. I end up using lens cleaner solution and it fix the issue. I'm pretty please with the quality now. You can actually zoom in on your video and the text is still legible. It is much more detail than the Mini3 as seen in my pics of the same location except one was cloudy vs sunny day Night time quality is just ok due to all the street light glare making it grainy. Quality also is grainy when you enter like a parking garage during day time. Cannot see any plate on the side unless they directly in front of you, see pics. Let me try to re-post some censored pic. Video Spec: Data and Total bitrate 19000-26000 kbps 3840 x 2160 30 fps Audio Bit Rate 95kbps File is 1min interval at 120mb per if you access through storage Wifi Download is 4x faster than mini 3. Downloading at 4.5mb/s and you can download up to 3min 055sec per file via apps which is about 600mb. [Original Review] I wrote a very lengthy review with all the data and detail about the mini5 comparing to the mini3 but the review got rejected. Had FPS, video bit rate and picture comparison to show the quality. In short, I really wanted to like the mini 5 but the video quality is grainy and not as clear and detail like the mini 3. If you a first time user, you would like it. Pro - 4k 30fps - Video bar so can select exact time for download. Con - Get really hot quickly - difficulty in wifi connection when there multiple wifi around - Video quality is darker and grainy - 4k only record and loop for about 5 hours, not 9 without video shrinking. - No remote button. I never use it for older version anyway.

First of all many reviews here are for the older version of this dashcam. This new version has type -c type adaptor. TLDR 1. Buy this if you need dual dashcam which can also be used as auto reverse parking camera. 2. Buy this if you like a proper display for dashcam, yes you can use this for playback of footage in case of accidents. 3. Suitable for senior citizens since proper display and playback available without app. 4. Don't buy if u have too much night driving(read full review for details), if you are not very sensitive for idiots who keep bright light throughout then no issue. 5. Buy if you don't want to deal with horrible 70mai app, yes I brought a 70mai dashcam for another car. 6. Lack of starviz 2 sensor and auto brightness sensor is the biggest miss. But can't have everything in such low budget. 7. Till now satisfied and will purchase this only even today considering my use case, details in full review. 8. Don't think you can keep display throughout the journey. Display+camera cannot be replacement for a mirror. Detailed review I brought this dashcam in FEB 2024 as soon as it became available and first reviews came on youtube (Almost 8 months of use till now). This dashcam is serves a particular purpose to have a dual channel dashcam plus a reversing video assist, since my car lacked touch screen and I don't plan to install any aftermarket one. For those two purposes this suits well. I have kept the screen to turn off after one minute of 'turning on' or after reverse is activated, else longevity of the dashcam will take a hit if you keep the display to always on. Also it is not good to use the camera and display as alternate to a mirror because your eyes will need to adjust to display with no depth and back. Also in night the headlight compensation is not good enough. Also wide angle will make things behind the car feel further than it actually is. For better longevity I installed the rear camera on the inside, may not be possible for all cars, I have a hatchback, I reversed the mount by unscrewing and attached it with a double side tape. It is still holding on after 100s of hatch closing. All I had to do extra was route wire through weather guard since a wire should go to reverse light to activate display on reverse gear, I saw leak of water only once in a wash but that was a only a few drops. After that many rains and washes never a drop of water seeped-in may be the wire contorted to the shape of weather guard . This is the third Ddpai dash camera in our family the other two survived till now. One survived 7 years and another 4.5 years till now. Yes we take extra for it to last like not sticking it to direct sunlight, if it does and over heats when it is hours out on direct sun, we change direction of A/C to blow cool air to windshield direction to cool it down. This camera wont have much of that issue because it is away from windshield and as extra precaution I put up two small thermocouple so it wont sit flush with inbuilt mirror and there is some air circulation for inner components. Yes there are drawbacks but some amazing pro that no other dashcamera delivers. Like just for 10k this have a huge screen other than two good cameras, the other competition of this from reputed brand is from 70mai and that camera costs twice as this. Usually dual dashcams with no screen almost costs this much and I don't want to put unknown brands inside my car with so many fire incidents around us. Now to the cons part. There are no auto brightness feature which makes usability in night little difficult if you have display always on as you don't need high brightness in night and vice versa in day time. Headlight compensation is not enough for night. That you can't even recognize if a car or truck is behind you when they are blasting bright light, will not be so worse if it had a starvis 2 sensor, but that would have meant a high price. There is no manual or auto-glare cut-off feature which will be sorely missed if you do lot of driving in night, for me the work around is to touch the display to turn it on for sometime till I get going fast or the guy with brightness-on to pass. The display is very wide so if you set the reverse to show very low then you cant see very far, unlike a 16:9 display you can,t get much height on what's displayed, ddpai should have added an option to shrink the height of video to see more stuff when you are backing up, not a big deal but 16.9 diplay usually present in cars don't have this problem. The display of reverse camera is reversed to project to mirror display, even when you download the footage, the reverse camera footage remain reversed, possibly because of weak processor. You have to reverse the footage yourself if need as proof but the watermark will also reverse. Seems like they are using weak processor, because once you go into menu to playback or to change settings the recording stops, it does mention that on screen with 'not recording' flashing. There are two bugs 1. The display will shift to front camera once in a while after reverse. 2. Sometimes after reverse display's touch doesn't work after a reverse I have to turn it of by disconnecting from power to make it respond again. but this bug don't stop recording. Recording goes on in background. But most of all none of the cons matter since it is just 10k also with offers even lower. My favourite feature apart from quality of display and recorded video is that, if you spot something on the road then you can touch the display to turn it on and then press snapshot button on display. It will save a video 15sec before and 15 sec after you touch the button and keep it from over writing. After that simply touch physical button below the display to turn off display, almost as easy as handling the music system or a/c of your car.

Product is very nice day time front and back cam images are nice quality. Night time front quality is good and back quality is poor, parking cam is not working for 24/7 the cam is working and recording only while the car is running or the engine is in on. While parking time recording not supported it shows. They showed in the catalogue as they support parking cam.

Okay where do I start, I’m not a very picky buyer but I do have certain requirements for a dash cam. High quality image/video (check), Good audio (check) and most importantly easy access to video storage (check!). This camera firmware is impressive, I love using it, simple and easy. DDPAI is a great camera. It has not failed me and it works everytime like a charm, no need to mess with buttons.
