Glass Fermentation Weights for Fermentation with Easy Lift Handles, Set of 4

These are four in a pack, at just under 7cm diameter, small enough to fit inside my new Lakeland fermenting jar. They are a good weight and pushed down the product in the jar. However, I also had to use small plastic preserving discs to hold down the apple slices which kept bobbing up above the brine. The glass disc alone was not wide enough to do this. CAUTION - I sterilized the glass weight and plastic discs in water, bringing the temperature up slowly. Unfortunately, i was careless with another glass weight which was cold, putting it onto a hot surface and it fractured from thermal shock. So now i have only 3.

Really good quality, worked perfectly for my fermented sauerkraut. Came very well packaged to protect from damage during delivery.

These do the job, nice weight and easy to clean. Only lose 1 star because there is a slight variation in the sizes which means not all of them will fit in the same jar. But I have a range of jar sizes so not a big issue for me. It might be a problem for someone who is always using only the same type of jar.

Just what I needed for weighting down me home made sauerkraut. Surprisingly heavy and easy to clean pure glass with small finger grip.

These weights worked well and would be perfect for mason jars. I bought wider necked jars from here and for obvious reasons the sauerkraut I made did escape a bit around the insides of the jar. They are enormously heavy and well made though.

Perfect for making sauerkraut. Fits Kilner jars well.

These are useful weights but be aware before buying measure the mouth of the jar as these though suitable for some jars, they can be too large or too small for the jars you are using. They defo do not fit Kilner Jars. I also think these a bit on the pricey side .
